World War II Global teamplay

Post by macgregor »

I've not received a lot of public response for this idea, but I have been able to assemble a team of 6; 3 Axis vs 3 Allies and I plan on posting AARs. Though I wouldn't mind seeing if there is interest for such an AAR. The scenarios are 'War in the West' which has started already, 'Fire in the East' which will start when this one gets to 6/41, and finally 'Countdown to Infamy', which will start when both others are in 11/41. Teams are not as hard as some might think to organize. It's nice to have a teammate to help you out when you get bogged down with life's problems.

Three colossal scenarios. While the six lead players are set, there may be opportunities for would-be players to assume roles in this game. Commands could be temporary or permanent dependent on the wishes of the lead player in the scenario. You may post here or PM me if you're interested.

You're telling me! Will you have actually have time to eat? [:)]

BTW: Count me as interested in the AARs - I don't have time to play them but I can read the AARs at work (as I do with others).

I suppose I'm getting away from the reality a little, which was indeed much uglier. We're trying to take over the world. That's all I know. I'm only here to report. I'll be moving the beloved IJA soon enough.

The battle of Medjerda is almost forgotten, but was fought against highly disciplined German troops and blasted a route straight to Tunis it was a perfect infiltration battle and should be remembered as the best fought British battle of the war.

This game has had to deal with a series of delays, replacing players who cannot commit to addressing their turn every 2 days. I am now taking over all Axis scenarios(15 Jan '40) and the game will continue to move on, hopefully with Jo Lima remaining in command of the Allies. I will continue to post AARs once significant action has occurred.

I originally signed on to command the Japanese in the Pacific. If there is anyone interested in possibly taking command of the Axis in either 'War in the West' or 'The Great War in the East' please PM me and I will send you the house rules. The one stipulation that must be stressed is that when it's your turn to move, you must either move or send to a fellow team member asap, for after 2 days of inactivity you will be removed.

Well. I'm afraid I was mistaken. Jo Lima is NOT on board and subsequently, the game is suspended. This is a big blow to my confidence in PBEM, though once contacted by enough intelligent, responsible people, I will consider a restart. Though I fear that such people may not exist.

What you attempted to setup, however admirable, was not exactly normal pbem. I am involved in a similar multiplayer pbem Great War game, which started on ACOW and is still going on. The pace has dropped to one turn per 3 months now [:D]

I am attempting to continue the game. My Axis teammates appear to want to continue. Perhaps they see the consequence not addressing the turn every two days now. But as of now, I have no Allied players.

Hallelujah! This game has finally begun to move under it's own power again, thanks to the likes of sapper32, xnavytc, and Foggy, who have joined choowee to command the allied forces. Sitting in the wings are several more potential allied commanders, quietly following the action(or lack of). This is a great opportunity for novice players to play alongside skilled veterans. As we are in the middle of the 'Phony War' period, there really isn't any action to report, though once hostilities recommence I will continue to post AARs.

Alright, I guess you can sign me up as a general reserve (either side). But not FitE. Well, maybe I'll give that a shot - if it comes to it.

Hi!

A very nice idea, and it inspired me to suggest somewhat like that in a german forum. Not much interest... [:'(] So I will follow the the AAR with great interest. [:)]
