As you can see they have put a nice hole in our LOC to Ankang. But we have enough supply to last for a couple of weeks, and the strategic reserves are alreading moving to help, and counter attack into their flank.

Eastern DEI Defences.

Darwin is badly banged up, and with PM and Merauke in our hands or the ight, and Boorme and Port Hedland on the left, we have sealed off this approach for a while.

Never the less we are building a network of supporting bases, with Kebndari as the hub.

On the right Boeala will become a major baser, we wnat to exploit the resorces and oil their while we can... and it protects one of the thrust lines to the Philippines.

Dili is already a level 4 airfield, and aircraft from there are trashing Darwin.

Koepang is obvious.

Once these bases are secure we will looking at a couple of depth supporting bases out of Allied medium bomber range. The engineers will then move to the rear and start preparing the next line of defence.

We don't expect them to use this thrust line any more... but we have the units here now, if we dig things in nicely then we can feel secure and focus elsewhere...

China
Our counterattack force of around 1000 AV will cross into their counter attack force. They have moved all but one unit one hex nth. We have 600AV in forts in jungle hex that should hold their counterattack, while our 1000 AV will shock attack across the river aginst their one unit. Looks like the tables are about to turn on the Chinese....

To the nth our armoured car regt is about to isolate Sian.

Here is the current situation in China.

After taking Ichang several large Chinese armies crossed the forests and attecked into the exposed left flank of our line to Ankang. They broke through in one location and about 5 days ago rounted an independant mixed Bde.

That force is now heading north, but is about to hit 600 AV in forts and forest...

We are counter attacking against a single corps with 1000 AV that are about to cross the river. The only thing that will upset us is the stack coming in from the left.

A lot of air is at Nanyang which is a well supplied level 6 airfield. The aircraft are used to help slow and break up the Chinese forces, and every now and then hit Sian.

We are also advancing in the far north in an effort to restict supply to the forces around Sian... it will be a long seige as the forces are fairly evenly matched.

We finishing securing the central part of the island. Two regiments and Army Arty has arrived at Batavia. The Imperial guards are digging in at Bandoang. We have two div to take Batavia, which should be enough... we will know next turn as we are bombarding. We probably shipped one div too many to Fiji... we are operating on a shoe string in the DEI and Burma.

Fuel is moving to Singapore nicely, and is flowing with oil and resources to Haiphong, I didn't expect it to move as well as it has, having to rethink the movement of "stuff". We are very short tankers... over half are being used to ship fuel to the SWPAC.

The 16th Recon Regt of ours is destroyed during the turn, so we have to buy it back.

Pago Pago goes to a level 4 airfield, and the island SE of Suva goes to a level 1 afld despite the port being bombed...

We are trying to work out if we have now in fact culminated... and are now looking for an easier target than Pago Pago. Our main problem is fuel... we still have another two months of campaigning but feel very extended.... there are also a couple of other targtes we would like to hit (including the B-17E operating out of Townsville, PM is 100% damaged, and it would be nice to catch them on the ground with a CA TF... just need the fuel...).

Very happy again now in China, we are bleeding them (we are also being bled, but we have the supply to recover). Taking Sian is a long way away yet, but it is mostly (weakly) encircled now so supply will be a huge issue. This will limit their offensive ability.

Summery
The recent destruction of around two Allied divisions in the South Pacific has significantly improved our ability to maintain a strong resistance into 1944. Of our original strategic aims we have largely accomplished them, except for the destruction of the Allied air forces... this is disturbing, in particular for Burma/Sumatra.

However overall we are in a great position, and as long as we don’t stuff up the Allies will have a tough fight coming back.

Burma Theatre. We are relatively weak here, 2 divs in Burma and a div committed to the attack on Port Blair. This theatre is probably our greatest threat. We need another two div here... Akyab is now level 3 forts, with plenty of supply. It would be nice to get another regt in here. In the centre we are building airfields and forts as quick as we can.

Sumatra. Sumatra is now clear, but we lack forces for a coherent defence. This area concerns me as a potential allied counter attack zone... our only defence is to try and sink as much allied shipping as possible!

Java. Java is moving late but well so far... the question is what happened to the Dutch fighter squadrons?

East DEI. With Darwin neutralised this theatre doesn’t concern us that much, but we are digging in hard and have a useful range of minor units that will hold anything but a major attack.
SWPAC. Rabaul is a significant fortress, and while PM is neutralised the rest of the area is untouched. Tulagi is almost a level 4 airfield. We intend building a group of bases on Finschaven/Umboi Island to support PM. The line from Tulagi to Buna is our intended defence zone.
SOPAC. Largely ours we are trying to work out how much further we should push our luck. Pagao Pago is strongly held... we are thinking about going deep into the centpac instead...

CENTPAC. We are moving naval guard units in but little else.

NORPAC. We aren’t planning on moving forward here.

China. We are starting to move some forces into southern China now we have draw a lot of their forces north to Sian. Sian is being cut off... not sure if we will be able to take it. Because they safely pulled all their forces out of Loyang and Chengchow they have a lot of force...

Air force. Our air force is in good shape. Pilot training is improving our fighter forces, and we have a sufficiency of Zero, and are almost there with Oscar. Trying to get Tojo as soon as possible... Medium bombers are a problem, but Helens will soon come on in numbers (over 100).

Shipping. The ships that were damaged in the attack on Sorebaya are starting to come back on line... We are in good shape over all.

Industry. We need more tankers! Need to pull out all the AK’s that convert from Jun and get them in position... and not get them sunk! Otherwise we are happy with how things are going, but still getting used to where to get things from.

One comment- I think your opponents were wise to abandon Chenchow and Loyang. These bases just can't be held on the open plains and the large armies garrisoning them at game start are better employed trying to hold the approaches Sian in more defensible terrain.
