Space Port Upgrades

Can a medium space port be upgraded to a large space port? If so, how?

On the main screen, right click on the medium space port and select "retrofit". You should then have the option of retrofitting to a large space port.

You can even retrofit to a small space port [:)]
This is actually quite handy early game, maintenance can kill you.

Thats why I always build small spaceports in the beginning.

And why I downgrade the medium SP we get at game start to a small one...the medium one also does not have the medical and recreational facilities.
