Establishing trade routes

Post by dawilko »

Hi guys,

Can anyone shed light on how to initiate trade in between my own planets?

I've also secured a trade mission in another race's home planet, how do I start trading with them too?

Not sure if I am miss understanding a game mechanic or just missed a screen.

Exporting colony needs something to export and a commercial space port. Importing colony needs a landing field and to be within range.

This is explained in the manual, and also covered by advice and tool tips for the relevant buildings

If the route will be tourism related (i.e., not trade goods), then both the sending and receiving colony need to have a commercial space port. (Natural wonders, etc.) A landing field is not sufficient for tourism but works perfectly for receiving goods.

Not sure that is quiet right. You need a Passenger Space Port on the planet with the tourist attraction(i.e. Natural Wonders), planets sending tourist there (i.e. that the Natural Wonder planet is "exporting" tourism to)only need a Landing Field. At least that is how it seems to be working for me.

It could be something that has changed with a patch or the expansion. I'll try to confirm with some testing, thanks for the head's up.

I'm in trouble with trades routes.
I 've built a commercial space sport on a planet with rare gems, and 2 landing stations on 2 others. So it worked fine, with 2 trades routes, but when i built 2 others landing stations on others planets, nothing happened, no new trade route created ?

after that, one of my first landing station was damaged, the route was "unused", but never came back after repairs. And no others were created.
then I tested and destroyed my commercial space port, my last trade route disepeared, built a new one, but still no trades routes after few turns.

Is there a max number trades routes for a commercial space port ?  Why the system can't created new ones ?
I don't see anything blocking my trade routes, no ennemies !

Nim8or, nothing changed, it was always like that (no patch for SN yet, and SN is the expansion that introduced trade routes).

TT, are the new colonies in range for trade? ~23/24 sectors. Were the routes not created at all, or were they created but are unused?
The damaged landing station thing is a bug, which will be fixed in the next patch.

I quit the game and load a save, built new landing stations on Sparta and Troy, and it works... but no trade route between Argos / Earth & Mycenae. I didn't know there is a limit of sectors [&:] . If a sector is a square of the grid, then this may explain why, thanks.
I thought it was caused by the heavy dust.

Yeah, Earth seems to be just outside range from Argos, and Mycenae definetely is.
