Air HQ Limit

How many air bases can be attached to a HQ? What are the limits/penalties - anything analagous to CU limits of land HQs?

Yes, there are the same type of penalties when AirCombatRoll is done. Each Air Base is using 1 point. Air HQ has the same limits. LF2 11 airbases attached and has limit of Army - 24. II Fliegerkorps has 5 airbases attached and has limit of Corps - 8.

It is the same as for usual Army/Corps HQs - 8/24, Mark. Probably it makes sense to display it as well.

Oh man, I really wish this was documented - I look at the CP column in the Commanders Report and all I see is "-" which would lead me to believe there is no effect.

Now I'm wondering if the puketastic performance of the Luftwaffe in my current game is a result of me "overloading" one of the Luftflottes.

Speaking of air performance...what are the penalties if the support level is less that the support needed? I have noticed that if I am not careful this can happen - but what is the effect?

it is not that easy to overload LW Air HQs with given amount of airbases

Mostly reduced maintenance, i.e. slower repair, higher ops losses.

Both have Army level limit - 24

Oh I know, but I have 1 AB assigned to the Luftflottes on the passive fronts just for some minimal air cover, and my southern Luftflotte has the rest because it's all hands to Stalingrad. I'll have to rearrange it some I guess.

I know you are correct about the the limits you stated, but I am rereading the the manual which states, "In addition, there are no limits or penalties related to the number of air base and other air headquarters units that can be attached to air headquarters units."
 
So this must have changed?
