Turn 11 - start

Situation in that turn wasn't much different from previous - pressure put on my forces in the north and steady withdrawal in other parts of front combined with attack on advancing units. Only notable intrusion in my position took place just west of Bryansk were Encircled successfully established corridor to his surrounded divisions.

What is the status on the industry? You got next to D-town and also Z-town and both are fairly loaded. Same with Bryansk and the small town next to it.

I would look to detail some follow up troops and deal with Odessa. You don't want that in Russian hands when blizzard strikes or you are going to have a huge issue back there.

Interesting and wild game.

In most cities he managed to withdrawn his industry. So far it is 12 Armaments and 4 Heavy Industry.

I absolutely agree.

Turn 11 - moves

In the north business as usual. Encircled is attacking, I am counter attacking while slowly giving ground.

Centre saw much more interesting developments that turn. I finally sealed pocket west of Bryansk, and gambled in the east part of the front. I preferred to created some threat to the east instead of creating strong ring around Soviets surrounded north of Bryansk. I think it is mistake. Shall see.

Panzers of AGS fully supported by infantry ripped apart Encircled defences east of Kharkov. Decent pocket and nice hole in Soviet defences. In the mean time I overrun small industrial town of Kramatorskaya. Very small gain.

I'm wondering about your corps structuring. Why have you left the above three motorized infantry divisions under OKH? I always make a point of getting combat units attached directly into a corps structure for optimizing supply. Have you moved the OKH headquarter unit into the Soviet Union to keep these three divisions within 5 hexes?

Never mind. I looked at the morale ratings of those units and assume these units must have been destroyed and are currently reconstituting. Wow! Big hit by the Russians in the Summer of 1941.

It sort of looks like you need to move a Panzer Corps or a more likely an entire Panzer Group up north to the PsKov front. Let him run a bit to the west with his offensive. Infact I think I'd let him push a big salient all the way to the Daugava River. Establish a Strong southern shoulder. Anchor it on that piece of rough terrain on the south end of the Malta River. But maintain the line from there straight west to the Daugava so you have a bridgehead from which to launch a counter offensive.

The line of the Daugava can be held with a minimum amount of force. A couple three divisions broken down to regimental kampgruppe on the west side of the River. Get a PzGroup set on the south side of his offensive (use HQ build-up).

Punch a hole in the flank and pinch off the entire head via a drive to the Gulf of Riga. No need for double envelopment in this case as you can anchor your single pincer on the coast line. If you time it right and let him stretch himself out by letting him run far enough west most of his flank cover will likely be either in 0 or 1 level forts. Easy to punch through. Looks like a very yummy oppotunity to bag a few hundred thousand Russians.

I agree, I should have placed OKH near. I didn't attach it to any corps because I didn't know what option will be the best.

That must have hurt.

One of your last screen shots shows a couple of your mech units parked next to Belgorad. There's a Russian unit or two entrenched in the city. I don't recall if there is any industry in Belgorad or not. But if industry is in the ZOC of an Axis unit can the industry still be rail evacuated?

Turn 12 - beginning

Encircled continues to put pressure in AGN sector, but thanks to snet reinforcements threat of being pushed back towards Daugava river and possibly routed, or even surrounded is gone. I think.

Pocket west of Bryanks finally survived, but ring around one in the north was broken. More over my forward pz division was routed.

AGS was fortunately too strong for Encircled's forces. Kharkov's fate is sealed.

Overall, prospects for upcoming turn are good, although it could have been be better.
