Transport

Post by Borst50 »

After having played RS enough, I realized that the Japanese infantry formations just do not have the time to capture their objective hexes before thje time runs out in the battles. The map area is usually too large for jungle fighting and not enough turns. This is prevelant especially in Burma and the Phil campaigns.

So, for giggles, I created a Motorized Infantry regiment for the japanese. It works well, but i also need the leaders and battalion HQ to be able to go where the foot troops can go also.

My question is; can Battalion HQ (Foot), and non motorized Leader units be mounted and disounted on truck transports?

Both of these campaigns require the Japanese to bully their way to the objectives. While rather difficult, especially against a skilled opponent, they are not impossible.

Why yes, yes they can. You will require a car/truck that has the same amount of SP's as the leader and battalion HQ in order to carry them.

I understand what you are saying. Bullying is not a problem for me once i get there, but rather. it is the extreme amoubt of time it takes to get there even at forced march, especially for meeting engagements. The average number of turns for the japanese in a meeting engagement is about 17 or 18 turns....as compared to 20 for EF/WF. The terrain is much harder to move thru and movement points are subsequently reduced. (This is at battalion level) By the time the troops do actually get to their objectibe hexes, the battle is nearly over and they are too fatigued to fight effectively. (I dont believe the japanese can use banzai charge for fatigued units)

This is why i created a motorzied regiment.
