According to the production screen Armaments is a bottleneck in my filling out the front lines.

I just wanted to comment a little on what I see in this game vs Fulkerson vs KTilly

Looking at turn 10 in each game first.

I have about 70,000 more deaths then Tilly. On the ground there are little differences other then I have allot more enemy troops surrounded. I would also say that Tilly is doing better in the north and center then me also, I am doing better in the South.

I have killed about 2.4 mil to KTilly's 1.8 mil.
Larry has 3.8 mil combat troops vs Pelton
Larry has about 4.25 mil combat troops vs KTilly

Turn 20

Again KTilly is doing better from Moscow north and I am doing better from Moscow south.

I have killed about 3.5 mil to KTilly's 2.8 mil.
Larry has 4.1 mil combat troops vs Pelton
Larry has about 5.0 mil combat troops vs KTilly

Larrys manpower production vs Pelton 2498 / vs KTilly 2718
Larrys Hvy production vs Pelton 158 / vs KTilly 214
Larrys Arm production vs Pelton 191 / vs KTilly 329

My conclusions:

1. The GHC must lower SHC manpower production to below 2500. There are several ways to do this. Moscow is not a must, but sure helps.
2. Capture as many cities as fast as you can.
3. The number of kills is not as important as it seems, the production factors are more important. More kills sure helps, I think 3 mill is probably the min.

My game vs Larry was the first winter for me in 5 games and I made a ton of mistakes. I personally like to thank Larry for sticking it out so he could teach me a few things about winter warfare [&o]

1. Garrison citys faster.
2. I should have advanced with 1/2 my army further east destroying a few more manpower centers and enemy troops. Then started digging in with the other 1/2 of my army.
3. My northern front was way to long I should have moved the Fins to the east another 15 + hexs and that would have freed up another 3 corps of Inf, which would have given me a huge reserve with the other units I alrdy had in reserve.

What you don't know about KLilly is that he bought the WITE game for me just so I'd play it with him. And of course I'm really greatfull. I thought it was such a good idea to "pay-it-forward" that I bought WITE and gave it to some young man in Italy for free. And of course he was blown away that somebody would do that. So KLilly has started a good idea 'cause that young man in Italy said he would "pay-it-forward" as soon as he was financially able. I think that's pretty darn cool.

Here's a close-up of the Moscow area and the situation there. I'm thinking maybe I can turn all this turmoil into something useful to the Motherland.

So basically Doing damage to Russian manpower/economy is superior to kill tons of units.

According to the production screen Armaments is a bottleneck in my filling out the front lines.

Comparing your game to the one i ran in test, I had 324 armament factories. I did lose a few but obviously you lost a lot of them. But in my game, armament factories were only producing 200 armament points per factory and in yours it is 300 although in the latest hotfix it was reduced to 250. So overall you actually out produced me by over 100k. I had 1.5 million men in the pool i could not field and an army size of 3.6 million.

You only have 83k men in the pool with an army size of 5.1 million men. I would say despite losing so many factories, they have kept up with your needs. Having so few men in the pool and such a large army shows how the Soviets can take a major beating and still be very strong.

You only lost 19 more divisions but 8 fewer brigades than in my game so unit wise you are also in very good shape. The frontlines were nearly identical but in my case I could not take back Moscow due to effective German counter attacks and overall weakness of Soviet forces.

How close to snow weather. The Axis look fairly strong in terms of numbers atm. I'm fearing it might be a hard 42 for the Russian's post blizzard weather. I mean the axis losses look light.

He is making a mistake having fortified zones in combat.

Hey Ketza dude: What makes that a mistake? I'm prone to do that same thing myself. Is it a waste of resources somehow?

They are horrible combat units and cannot retreat. Total waste except to get a head start on building forts. Once you get the forts built disband them before they get into combat.

Also as the Axis they suffer attrition during the Blizzard so its a bad idea to have them at all.

Yep, I agree with Ketza. Kill every fortified zone you can. They surrender and the Germans will never get those assets back.

One thing this AAR has shown me is the utter beating the Soviet economy and army can absorb and still be a potent force. Its a real eye opener.
