Supply effect on combat

Post by Fred98 »

From 5.10 of the manual.

The three suppply states are: Full Limited None

The computer checks for supply. If a unit is not in supply it’s supplty status is changed from Full to Limited or from Limited to None.

If subsequently, a supply line can be traced, the unit’s supply status switches to Full.

Limited supply = Reduces Attack / Bombardment factor by 1/3

None supply = There is a 50-50 chance that the unit will lose 0 or 1 factor of Quality
-

If the supply state is "None" how does this affect the Attack / Bombardment factor ?

Maybe it is "in addition to reduces attack bombard by 1/3, there is a 50/50..."
Conflict of Heroes "Most games are like checkers or chess and some have dice and cards involved too. This game plays like checkers but you think like chess and the dice and cards can change everything in real time."

The text from the Manual ...
5.10.3. SUPPLY STATUS EFFECTS
A unit’s Supply Status affects its ability to perform.
Full: No Effect. The unit functions at normal capacity.
Limited: Reduces a unit’s Attack Strength or Bombardment Factor. Both Factors are reduced by 1/3.
None: Units with No Supply lose either 0-1 Level of Quality during the Supply Status Phase. There is a 50-50 chance that the unit will lose 1 point of Quality. (When such a unit re-establishes a Supply Line, it regains its original Quality level.)

Whenever a valid Supply Line cannot be traced to the unit's HQ then it loses a Level of Supply Status, i.e. from Full to Limited and then from Limited to None. So as J2D said, the effect is cumulative. When at None you'll have the 1/3 reduction as well as a 50% chance that the unit's Quality is reduced by 1.

I'd assume that every subsequent Turn you remain in the None Supply Status there is a 50% chance you're Quality would be reduced further.

Also, can't see this in the Manual, but I'm sure (just checked) that even if the unit is not in Command Contact with its HQ it still remains at Full as long as its out of contact HQ has a Supply Line ... maybe something that should be looked at.
