Direct fire phase question

Post by Rosseau »

In the Direct Fire Phases, you get the option to Show Potential Targets. Selecting each target can be important, but can also be tiresome in some games. If I don't select any targets myself, will the game target for me and fire?

That takes player input. Op fire is computer controlled.

Anyone have any tips on getting good direct fire results? I'm typically lazy and hit "select all" to concentrate fire on one unit. But I guess an AT company should target armor and MG arty...

A cat can walk across the keys of a piano and play it. To make music takes time.

As direct fire is worked out for each individual unit - there is no odds calculation as in assault based on combined units - I do tend to check to see if there are 'optimal' attacks if I've got different unit types in an attacking stack. As you say - AT against Armour, Armour against Infantry etc.

In that case, they should give the option to automate the direct fire turns. It would save a ton of time and mouse clicking. As you say, the AI already handles OP fire, so it could be done...maybe.
