NAVAL COMBAT OPTION BASIC!

Post by Hellfirejet »

OPTION 1 = Possible die roll option, where by no ships are lost/sunk which is the normal result for the age of sail,in that very few ships were actually ever sunk in action.(PLUS THE PERCENTAGE LOSSES ARE FAR TO HIGH IN THIS GAME AND IF POSSIBLE SHOULD BE REDUCED )

OPTION 2 = For any fleet that has taken part in naval combat, and is involved in further naval combat the next turn, should to reflect damage done to the fleet from the first battle it fought in, should recieve a -1 die roll penalty on the combat table, plus per additional battles it fights in upto -3 on the die roll,or until the fleet returns to friendly port for repairs?

I feel that option 2 is the normal state off affairs, for the age of sail,in that most ships were damaged in battle, and not sunk as this game portrays.
Make it so!

In my opinion the naval system is the weakest part of the game and is near broken.

It needs a complete redesign not tinkering, but this is unlikely to happen given the close ties with the board game.
