Update to PCK

Post by Prince of Eckmühl »

Just a quick note on the "free update" that's been offered to owners of PCK. While I'm grateful for the uber-patch, I have to note that some folks are gonna struggle with the process. I'm pretty tech-savvy, but I spent several minutes, brow all a furrow, before I worked my way through to the download link. I'm posting this here, because I didn't want to go potty on the release over on the main game forum. Again, though, I'm grateful for the update. God willing, and if I survive the flood, I may actually buy a retail copy of the game. Dang, but aren't I a hard-case!

Edit: For anyone who drifts over here, the download speed isn't all that bad, about 500k. Rather, the download is going to take a while because of its girth, about 1.4GB. I guess that its just the nature of the beast.

A few notes for anyone who ventures over here for help...
  • The process that you'll go through to get a product key and download link is somewhat cumbersome and confusing.
  • The download itself is actually quite large, so be patient.
  • After the download is done, the installation process takes a while.
  • When queried as to whether or not to update .NET and DX, do so.
When you've successfully negotiated the process, you'll have PCO working on your computer!

I don't think the challenge is any worse than most google searches or playing most war games.
Conflict of Heroes "Most games are like checkers or chess and some have dice and cards involved too. This game plays like checkers but you think like chess and the dice and cards can change everything in real time."
