Missile Question

Post by Lobsteve »

This occured to me, and of course it may be entirely self-evident, but I thought I'd ask anyways.

When firing missiles, how do things decide how many missiles hit? Does each one have to pass the to-hit check? Or is it something more subtle?

Lobsteve.

To hit is based on each weapon firing (lrm6 is one "to hit" not 6).
Damage is then based upon randomizers 1st to see how many hit and then where they hit.

Note to Rookies: Swivel, Swiveling is Good, say you're moving NE swivel so that you torso is facing E. A: maybe your opponent isn't where you think he is and B: if you give your opponent one side of your titan to shoot at missle damage becomes much more effective because it is being spread less evenly.

That does remind me that I taught the AI for WS to better swivel in cases it would get too much fire from one direction.
