I Can Make Random Battles but Not Campaign

Post by Grell »

Hi Guy's,

Here are my specs:

Dell Laptop;

1 XPS 15
1 Intel Core i7-2620M processor 2.70 GHz with Turbo Boost 2.0 up to 3.40 GHz
8GB Shared Dual Channel DDR3 Memory
1 15.6 in HD WLED TL (1366x768) with Skype-Certified 2.0MP HD Webcam
NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M 2GB graphics with Optimus
1 750GB 7200 RPM SATA Hard Drive
1 Logitech M305 Wireless Mouse with Nano Receiver - Jet Black
1 Tray Load Blu-ray Disc BD-Combo (Reads BD and Writes to DVD/CD)
1 JBL 2.1 Speakers with Waves Maxx Audio 3
1 Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1000

I have service pack 1 for Windows 7 64 bit and I have IE 9, I also have Firefox 4.

When I try to make a campaign with Firefox as my default browser I get a message saying saying if I run this script I will damage some programs on my comp.

When I have IE as my default browser nothing happens, the screen for the custom campaign is there but nothing happens, I sat there for an hour and a half and the screen did not change, if I clicked with the left mouse button it would say do you want to cancel the build process.

I am at my wits end, I cannot figure this out, can someone help me I would really like to play a random campaign and why can I make a random battle.

Best Regards,

Greg

hi Grell,

It really shouldn't matter what you set your default browser to. As long as you have IE installed that's really all thats needed. I don't use firefox, but i assume the message you are seeing might be due to some security setting not liking the .hta application. (which is what the generators are).

For a Random Campaign, try a short one first. When you first open the random campaign builder, I thnk it's probably set to generate one for the 1st infantry div. Go ahead and click on the Build campaign button in lower right. Another screen should come up saying building campaign, then it should finish and return you to the Set campaign screen.

See next post.

Thank
Rick

When you return to the Fixed campaign screen, scroll down and your new random campaign should show up at bottom of list.

Thanks

Hi Rick,

That screen works fine, as soon as I click the build campaign button at the lower right the next screen I see is the building campaign screen with a big progress bar and that's where I am stuck,

Thank You,

Greg

OK, thanks for bearing with me.

Does that progress bar start to fill in? each time it 'blinks' it is creating a random scenario.

In the Game root folder (the folder where the game is installer, find the file: PzCRCg.hta

Right click on it and check the properties to see if it's blocked?

Thanks

Hi Rick,

I checked the file and it had me allowed as an administrator but not as a user so I changed that.

I'll try the generator again.

One last thing. find that file in the game folder again and just double click on it there to run it and see if it works from there. I think maybe something is blocking it from executing otehr hta scripts.

thanks

I double clicked it and the camp gen screen still would not fill again.

Never mind Rick, I`ll live without it.

Thanks again for all your time and help.

Hi Grell,

Did you at any point when you got that script warning tell it to block those scripts? I've seen something like this happen on a system that had security settings set fairly high and where the first time one of these was run, the user confirmed that it was a dangerous script (which it is not). With normal security settings, that warning should never appear.
