Crash after cycling unit and plotting fire

Post by FNG »

I had a crash earlier - game froze and CTD'd - so I went back to my last save game, assuming it was 'one of those things'. It just happened again when I was paying more attention. I was using the '<' and '>' keys to cycle through my units and had just moved from a Pz III platoon to a Pz IV platoon. I right-clicked, selected Engage and targeted an enemy unit. As I did so (and the game hung) I realised that the main gun was displaying as 50mm, not 75mm. So it seems that somehow the data from the previous unit was not initialised when I selected the next one and this then caused a crash because the Pz IV data does not have the 50mm gun.

Aha! Thanks, that's a very valuable report. We will try to duplicate that and if we can, it will be fixed ASAP.

I had the same issue occur in the same battle (first battle of 1st Panzer random long campaign). Again it occured when cycling from a Pz III platoon to a Pz IV platoon and giving an Engage > Target order. On this occasion, I noticed the incorrect gun data so reselected the last Pz III icon from the HUD then clicked on the Pz IV icon. Gun data was now correctly displayed and the crash prevented.
