Let's see... I do sometimes pick up the bargains when they are bargains. Mostly, it's because I just didn't have the time to get it when it first came out. I have picked up both Mass Effects on sale. I have only been playing the 1st one so far.

Games I have paid full price for - WiTP-AE, WiTE, CoG:EE.

There are sooooo many games out there that tickle my fancy but I usually talk myself out of them based on price and time to play them. I do not have any issues (yet) in buying any games that I want. I find 400-600 a little much, but I'm probably not that far behind if I really sat down and calculated it out.

Right now I'm playing World of Tanks (Yeah [:(] I've actually paid a little for gold (about $30 so far), although the basic is free) and I'm also playing Everquest Emulator which is free. I'm not sure if we are supposed to talk about that, but Sony knows about it (they have to have heard about it) so I'm not sure how bad a thing it is. I play on the server that is classic to Kunark.

I'm very intrigued by Battlefront CM-Normandy, but I'm a little put off by their activation scheme (and I wasn't sure if we were even supposed to discuss that here, either). The people on the forums act like it is a good game so far.

I'm very intrigued by Battlefront CM-Normandy, but I'm a little put off by their activation scheme (and I wasn't sure if we were even supposed to discuss that here, either). The people on the forums act like it is a good game so far.

I played the CM Normandy demo and enjoyed it. It still feels somewhat clunky and disjointed but it has improved by leaps and bounds over CMSF.

However, there is simply no way in hell I am going to pay $60 for the game. $40 would be the upper limits of what I would spend on it. I simply don't feel like it is a 60 dollar effort.

It will probably be another title that I bargain hunt down the road. Besides I am sure there will be the inevitable flood of modules that include the British, Free French, Polish, French Resistance, Elite units of the Panzer SS, Ear and Stomach Battalions and the hypothetical 'What if the British Home Guard landed with the first assault wave?' [;)]

My Steam wish list has grown to 14 games. The summer sale cannot get here fast enough. Time to stock up [:)]

What always puzzles me about discussions like this is the emphasis on purchase price as opposed to the time cost of learning and actually playing the game(s). (Not to mention all the background reading. I always do that with my games. Adds to the immersiveness.)

For me, the true cost of a game is all the time I put into it. The money cost pales in comparison.

Life is really so very short. Which is why I have trimmed my play list so. Tired of wasting both money and time.

I would be more than happy to pay full price for wargames running on Mac or Linux. Looking at the statistics for the ("pay what you want") Humble Indie Bundles you will see that Linux users always pays a lot more, followed by Mac users, and Windows users way behind, so I guess I am not alone in being desperate for more non-Windows games.

Will probably buy more games from Matrix, even for Windows, as long as I know it will run in WINE and there is no DRM-worries. DRM-free can be worth a few $10 extra, or more (plus it is also a nice thing to support).

Other than that it is almost only gog.com for me in the last few years.

From now on, I will only purchase, and play, games that I can run on Linux WINE. Or possibly run in Linux virtualized Windows XP. I'm at the end of the line with Windows. Also strong, invasive DRM.

I have a compulsion to buying games. That said, it's about value to me. If There are 2 games, one is on sale for $10 but has activation limits, the other is $30 but I actually own the game and can install and uninstall it as many times as I want then I will buy the $30 game.

The way sales are now days it makes little sense to buy right away. I bought Shogun 2 and Retribution at full and they both went half off about 2 months later. Then there was the time I bought Making History 2 at Matrix at $40 and the next morning, THE NEXT FRICKIN' MORNING, it went on a half off sale.

Wait for the sale.

I really dont buy anything full price. Books, DVDs, clothes, groceries, etc.

I will make an exception for Elder Scrolls V Skrym. I'm a huge Bethesda fanboy. I'll be getting that game on launch day!

I will buy most Matrix games at full price....after I research wether I want the game/bugs/word of month. But other games I hardly ever buy and if I did it wouldn't be full price(exception Ageod).[;)]

Well I'm waiting for the sale with Pride of Nations. $20 USD for a full featured grand strategy game? Maybe when it's more affordable. Say around $5.

I often consider buying games like Points of Attack 2 or Battles from the Bulge but one things that really puts me off is that despite very high price I just get the program on disk or as a download but no printed documentation.

I sometimes buy old games on ebay and sometimes they reach prices of such games, but they offer much greater experience. They come in good looking full cardboard boxes and have full printed documentation. I bought Falcon 4.0 a few months ago and it came with about 400 pages of documentation and in a great looking box that stands on my shelf.
Now I just received M1 Tank Platoon and it also has a great looking box and a 200 page manual.
