1.08.05 official release

Post by Dancing Bear »

Any idea when the 1.08.05 will become an official release instead of a BETA?

Rumour has it that it won't. This seems a pretty odd thing to do however. I've asked for clarification on this from Matrix/Marshall but no response as yet.

Would be really useful to know as a group of us are waiting to start a game but the forum we use doesn't allow betas.

Yes we are all waiting on this, there is good reason why we only recommend official versions.

Not sure. Marshall has been very busy with real life lately and hasn't had time to focus on EiANW. There should be another update to v1.08.06 going out later this week for playtesting, and then hopefully out for public beta and official release in next few weeks. It all depends on what fixes are on his short list and how difficult they are to finish. The pbem Spanish AI problem took a lot longer to track down and fix than expected but that's all working well now.

This has been a very long journey for v1.08 but there is light at the end of the tunnel. With the pbem improvements plus the new pbem admin menu features, it should be worth the wait. Hang on a little longer? [:)]

I have already posted this before, but never got a reply. How does one become an official playtester? I have emailed Marshall directly and heard nothing back.
