update wont install

hi all,
tried several times to install the latest update for TOAW III without joy.i have down-loaded all previous patches without problem.i get as far as saving the down-loaded file to desk top but when i open it a page flashes quickly on the screen then dissappears ,this is then repeated in a never ending loop to which i can only stop by rebooting system. strangely the same thing happened when i tried to down-load PKOstfront!

any help would be greatly appreciated. bill

I don't recall but, perhaps you have the game installed in a folder that isn't the default. Or maybe you could save the file to something other than your desktop and then right click and run as admin. Perhaps if you stand on your head while drinking a glass of water and whistle The Bonnie Blue Flag. Computers will do that to ya.

my system uses windows vista 32.i tried with firefox and IE9 with same result.
i am not very computer savvy but as far as i recall i have the game in the default location.

The name of the files or patches you have downloaded and installed including the one that didn't work.

Your operating system.

Did you get the latest drivers for all your devices such as video, sound and motherboard?

Let me clarify: The update has to be applied to that installation. The update is not a stand-alone program.

Downloaded the latest, latest patch. (the 340302) But I just plumb forgot how to install anything. [&:] Can't remember how I installed the previous updates.

Re-install the original version and apply the latest patch on top of it. That should do the trick. Most lads play with the latest 3.4.202 anyway; but in case you have a PBEM running with an older version I'd suggest to install all updates, step by step and backup the TOAW 3.EXE, too.

Just unzip it to a temp directory and then execute the .EXE.
