On the 21st, the F$F's had recovered some fatigue so the carriers were sent North and a second cruiser force was split off from the carrier escorts and ordered North. The slow BB's were brought into the carrier taffys for their triple A. In the end, the cruiser force declined to attack by the SBD's did some damage, sinking DD Uzuki and 3 AK's, one with nearly 1600 WJD's aboard.

A big allied sub screen near Deboyne and the Jomard Passage netted one CMc, but the Dutch boat O-16 was hit badly and may sink.

B-17's sunk a damaged CL and DD in port at Port Moresby (that they can do).

Was an enviromental study down on the impact of this artificial reef, and how it will effct surfing( poor on that side i think) and the death of coral on the barrier reef from leakage? Secondly what will be the cost of cleanup and who will be responsible?

As for the project, I think M&M Enterprises Planned Developments Division is the lead contractor so the incentive would be to make any environmental issues go away.

The latter does seem a job for M&M Enterprises Environmental Impact Mitigation Division. Last time we heard from them they were using a field-modified B-25 with 12 forward firing .50's to soften up the opposition to a project.

So here I am stuck at work, waiting for the State Farm agent to call me back because somebody claims my truck backed up into a '95 Toyota at the Pavillion's parking lot.

Here is what happened. I was out getting the yard ready for an inspection by Frau Braun about 2 weeks ago and 2 Sheriff cars pull up. The stop, walk onto the driveway and start writing stuff down. Now, as I am now an old hand at this, I walk up and say, "Good afternoon Deputies, are you looking for XXXX?"

"No, we are looking for XXXX"

"Oh, this is XXXX"

"You should have an address sign", the male Deputy says.

"Yeah, been meaning to do that."

"Is theese you car". It's the female Deputy. She has some unidentifiable Eastern European accent.

"Yes"

"Theese car hit and run accident. Where you wife?"

"Wife?"

"Yes, wooman drive car"

"Not this one she didn't. She's at work."

"Can I speak to her?"

"If you want to go up to her work"

"You wife not here?"

"No, she has been at work all day. I'm telling you she didn't drive this car."

"Yes she did."

"No she didn't" (At this point, I suspect that Mandrake Jr. was likely driving the truck and she is such an imponderably bad driver it is just possible she backed into someone and didn't realize it...but I am not going to volunteer this because we are having so much fun)

We debated back and forth about the DNA evidence in the OJ trial, the FBI paint lab. She claimed she could match the damage to the bumper. I objected.

"No you can't. You can't prove to me the sun is going to rise in the East tomorrow." You can probably tell I like to argue.

"See it round"

"No, the bumper"

"And quite a clever design it is. Amazing that nobody else thought of it."

It was hopeless. I told her I would have Stalker Girl Call her. Stalker Girl bit my head off. [:D] Her reaction was so extreme I half imagine she is on the run from a stint in the Weather Underground or something. I'll keep you posted..my agent is calling.

It doesnt help that my wife decided that our nephews B-day party was more important than throwing my bail. In her defense (my kids agreed with her) i could have saved myself the whole trip by cooperating and staying in the car.

It's sure hard as hell to dail your lawyer while in handcuffs!

Oz: Annoyingly, the LYB's are trying to establish a base at Terapo after PM was bombed into the stone age. I had thought the ships at Terapo were just cripples from the carnage off PM, but after a full aviation regiment began landing at Horn Is., I sent in 10 USAAF B-25's to Horn set to naval attack at 1000 ft. Unescorted AK's are just sitting ducks to the B-25's. This particular squadron has been training up for naval attack and gets about .6-.7 hits per sortie. Now that Horn Is. has about 90 aviation support points, I moved up the Dutch NEIAF B-25's and some B-26B's. Anything slow within about 12 hexes of Horn Is. with no air cover is going to get plastered. The is makes resupply of the Northern shore of Papua New Guinea problematic and resupply by sea of PM or Terapo nearly impossible (except perhaps fast transport runs).

There are now 5 units at Terpao. I suspect this will prove to have been a waste of resources. Today the B-17E's from Townsville will hit the grass strip at Terapo and the B-26's will hit the ground troops. The surface group of one CL and 3 DD's at Horn will raid Terapo tonight. I think all the dummy recon flights over New Guinea /Rabaul/Guadalcanal have convinced the LYB's there is an attack coming there.

The US carriers are recovering to Sydney and resources are still being accumulated at perth.

I should add that when I politely addressed the female Deputy as "Deputy", the male Deputy quickly corrected, "She's not a Deputy". [:D] It turned out she was a CSO (Crash Scene Officer or some such thing). I am pretty sure he was not happy with the Sherlock Holmes act she was putting on and resented the duty to accompany her. I think I saw him roll his eyes when she gave me the "bumper is round" thing.

I should also add that despite having an ally in the Deputy she still ignored everything I said and I am pretty sure I am screwed when her traffic report comes out some time in August. Bloody annoying, really.
