Stupid upgrades & ship withdrawls

Saw that a RN CV had a withdrawl. Sent to to SFO with 2 DDs to get them ready. Had TF set to auto disband, which it did. At the end of the turn it applies the update, sends the CV to the shipyard, and noe it cannot be set to a readiness level so it can withdraw!!

Any way to force the issue?

Are you playing AE? If so, you should post there.

Disbanding a ship into port in regular WITP should not effect its ability to be withdrawn... only way it could is if the upgrade sent SYS damage over 50%. However, since a ship will generally not upgrade if it has significant damage on it - this shouldn't happen.
