OT - Mid Atlantic Air Show Pics

Post by Hanzberger »

Went to MAAM today, Sunday and just uploaded some pics from the show. My wife took the pics and I was suppose to take video. However, the video camera battery took a dump. So here are some of the pics, best viewed in the slideshow format. Sorry no video and especially no sound, maybe next year. [;)]

Had a good time on Saturday, had to leave before the airshow because of the boys having a baseball game but weather was good and seeing the B-29 fly was awsome. The restoration on the P-61 is coming along very nice. Will be a sight to see when that flys. Great photos!

I checked the book and don't see that name. Does it go by any others? Sorry not a guru here.

Yes weather was great this year, not as hot as last year. Glad you had a good time too.

It looks like a Sturmhaubitze but the gun is too long.

Not an expert by any means but the tank looks to be in the Stug III family but not sure what variant it'd be

I believe the stug III f and later used a longer barrel weapon.  The earlier  mks used short barrel weapons I think I'm not an expert at this...

The mantle isn't right though. I suppose it could be because it's a rebuild. I'd suspect the StugIIIF and the StuH42 had the same chassis which would make the call more difficult.

Then again it could be something like a T34 made to look like a StuG similar to what they did in Saving Pvt Ryan where T34's were used to build Tigers
