You know-ordinarily, Onime and I would be sharing duty harranguing you for pictures of the females. Where is Comrade Red Mouse these days anyways? Anyone got a line on him? That damn slacker is making it more difficult to extract needed pictures of scantily clad Swede females from Grollub...[;)]ORIGINAL: Grollub

Holy shimoley, Leo. I know that area well. Have some property just outside Puerto Montt, Chile, (on Lago Llanquihue, with a beautiful view of Volcans Osorno y Calbuco) and that's not very much farther south from Hualpen. Looks like the Pacific rim is lighting up. Woof!! whoda thunk in our lifetime. Knowing full well the extent of the old Chinese curse, for an old time sailor, these are very interesting times.ORIGINAL: Apollo11
Hi all,
Spectacular and frightening! [X(]
Spectacular pictures! Breathtaking, many of them! Very bad for people and I pray for their success in overcoming this latest disaster; but it is a powerful reminder of the strength, majesty and beauty of Mother Nature. The person who took those photos was a visual genius. Do you know his/her name, or what agency they work for? Where did they come from? Exquisite Art, like that, needs to be recognized.
Thanks Leo. Ciao, John.

RE: THE THREAD!!!
As far as I could find, the photographer is called Francisco Negroni and he works for an agency called Agenciauno. He's from Chile.

RE: THE THREAD!!!
Hi all,
John, the pictures were all posted on on-line UK newspaper Daily Mail - I reposted whole article here.
Judging from picture captions (AFP, Getty Images, Reuters) I guess that they were collected from many sources (possibly some local photographers and/or photographers that got on the scene after eruption started)...
Thus I sincerely doubt there is one single author for all those pictures - I guestimate that multitude of different authors contributed!

Perhaps so, Leo. Darn; really wanted to send a note to the photo pukes that their images were awe-inspiring, thought-proviking, and a horrible, beautiful, visual feast. Guess I'll have to take them one at a time.ORIGINAL: Apollo11

[ed] sent a note to Agencia Uno about the beautiful images from Francisco Negroni. That kind of beauty should not go un-recognized.
Thanks. Ciao. John

Spoken with the awesome surety of an Englishman trying to explain how Scots invite their Yank neighbors over for a night of fun. My above was the identified title for the occasion, perhaps your individual interpretation of specific nomenclature may have varied.ORIGINAL: sprior

Back in the day, our Scots neighbors regularly invited us over for Burns Night. A night of spirits drinking , games, good conversation and-yes-haggis eatin'.
Different folks will refer to the celebration as a "Burns Night" or "Burns Party" or "Burns Dinner". Stating that no-one has ever heard of a Burns Party before, because the occasion is universally called "Burns Night" smacked of an unnecessary correction where none was due.
