NW impact graphics

Post by vandorenp »

Most of the time when NW rounds impact there is no graphic. I believe it is all the time but I am not certain.

I see NW impacts - they tend to wander a bit from the POI due to low accuracy, and only fall as single salvoes, so you'll miss them at high speeds - try at slow speed.

The NW Bn are not very useful - I broke mine down into batteries to reduce the column length, making them usable in a close support role - the original column would contact the target while moving to the weapon min-range. The smaller number of weapons also makes it a little easier to drop them onto the rear of enemy positions in support of friendly assaults - but care is needed due to the large dispersion, even with 'protect friendlies' left on.

Yes but the impacted units show being bombarded when using the debug version.

Well - I see the hits spread a bit from the MPI - this seems directly related to the accuracy given in the Estab. I'm sure anyone near where it landed would be heading for cover anyway - noone wants the screaming meemies aimed at them :)

There are impact sprites for the pulse in which the rounds land, but due to the "reloading" you might miss it with higher rates of simulation. If you run at slowest, then the impact sprites are definitely shown.

The full sprite cycle is shown and the location easier to see with normal artillery as the repeated impacts allow this at the higher simulation rate, even though some frames are dropped (ie only 2-3 'impacts' for a 10 minute fire mission, rather than 1 set per minute).
