No bases fell today. The Empire is sending one unit to flank the Chinese army investing Ichang, but it's going to the north. Presumably the intent is to gain that hex, then move into Ichang thereby taking ownership of the hex side within Ichang. Another unit is moving back toward open country on the road to Ankang. Happily, there were no Imperial fighter sweeps today outside of China, where Imperial air power currently reigns supreme due to the shortage of supplies.

Only 7 units at Clark Field have more than 100 supply, and none as much as 200.

Rambutyo fell today. The withdrawal from Burma continues, and while so far the pursuit has not caught up they surely will. The Empire is also moving additional troops in Ichang, up to 5 units. The airfield on Umnak Island is more than 70% toward size 2. Adak is about 35% airfield and 15% port damage. We should be able to commence bombing before they resume building.

What is surprising is the ratio of squads destroyed. The AV difference is great, but I still would expect a large number of disablements. Comparing the combat reports from yesterday and today, the 59th/A Division is the only unit that moved into the city. It certainly shock attacked alone, so that level of casualties must have almost wiped it out.

An undetermined number of Imperial units are now seen withdrawing from Ichang. However, others are making an encirclement to the south having cleared the swamp of Chinese troops.

Dutch Harbor airfield is 0+85% and Umnak Island airfield is 2+1%. A squadron of B-26s has moved in and will rest for one or two turns to reduce fatigue before commencing operations. Adak Island now scouts as 37% & 20% for airfield and port damage, so the naval bombardment damaged the tiny base even worse than early reports indicated.

Sub War, Karachi!

No bases fell today. Several submarine versus escorts battles near Karachi, and a minefield laid there. I-123 is believed hit 8 times for heavy damage, then 1 more. AMc Karachi (ironically) was destroyed when it struck a mine during clearing operations. I-124 was hit 3 times but also torpedoed KV Genista, sinking her. At the end of the day the Intel monkeys think I-123 sunk.

At GR:83,53, two hexes ESE of Changsha, Chinese reinforcements have moved in and the tally from the Imperial bombardment shows the Empire's forces at 1,001 AV and the Allied forces at 4,402. The Allies actually have slightly less, but probably so do the Imperialists. The terrain is x3 for defense, but we shock attack tomorrow.

Four Imperial units are seen NE of Ichang, up from two. The additional troops were not seen moving in. The unit in the swamp SE of Ichang is still moving west. So it seems the Empire seeks to fully envelop the Chinese forces investing the city. If the Allied attack near Changsha (mentioned above) succeeds then perhaps that will dissuade the Empire from advancing too far near Ichang.

There are now 8 IJA units at Warazup and the the Allies withdrawing still have a long way to go. Allied air will switch from hitting ground troops plus the Myitkyina airfield to all hitting ground troops.

At Clark Field there are only a slightly smaller number of units with zero supply than the number of units with any supply at all. Soon most will be out of of supply.

The biggest problem is that all of the combat formations are at 44 or 45 miles traveled while the base forces and AA unit are still in the 30s. So, unless the combat forces stop moving they will exit the hex and the base forces will be mauled next turn. Orders issued are as such: Combat formations will continue moving and exit the hex pronto. Base forces will continue moving and exit the hex ASAP, getting mauled is optional. Some combat forces and base forces did leave the hex just before the Imperial attack.

Two IJN cruisers bombarded the Cocos Islands and sank the HDML defending the area. An Imperial bombardment at Warazup revealed that only base forces and AA remained at the end of the day. It's doubtful that any of them will clear the hex tomorrow, but they will try. Recon of Koumac shows no Imperial occupiers, although it is being performed by patrol craft not trained in recon. An Australian Commando unit is already on the way overland to investigate.

Talasea fell today. Fang-chen was liberated. "APD Lawrence hits Type 88 Mine at Kodiak" - The Empire continues vigorous mine warfare (Lawrence is in bad shape in port at Kodiak now). TK Genota went down to I-2 near Kingscote. Here convoy was escorted, but some of the available escorts are barely fit to be called such. The defenders at Clark Field withstood another attack. Although the casualty ratio is still in their favor, vital supplies were chewed up. There are now only two units at Clark with more than 100 supply on hand, and fully half have zero.

No bases fell today. Only two Allied base forces were caught in Warazup as the Empire looks to have dedicated at least one additional unit to its attack, and made it an all-out (shock) attack. The two base forces took heavy casualties, over 1,700, but managed to retreat.

One of our subs attempted to intercept a large enemy convoy well over 100 miles SE of Port Blair but was driven off by the heavy escort. The Imperial Guards Division is landing along with a port unit.

No bases fell today. APD Lawrence, which hit a mine a number of days ago at Kodiak, finally succumbed to massive fires that couldn't be quenched. Heavy fighter opposition met the raid on Akyab airfield today, so the bombers will stand down tomorrow. Several P-40E squadrons make Karachi in two or three days. With fully trained pilots they should help the air war. Koumac has been found to be unoccupied by the Australian 2/7 Independent Commando Company and should be liberated tomorrow (as Imperial tax collectors and such are rounded up).

The Empire seems quite interested in Ichang and environs, perhaps even into the interior of the Middle Kingdom.

Koumac was liberated today. Clark Field withstood a deliberate attack, but the odds were almost 2 to 1 for the attacker so clearly it was the last hurrah. One unit was destroyed.
