Immediate finish to a battle - amazing first for me

Close Combat – Last Stand Arnhem is a highly enhanced new release of Close Combat, using the latest Close Combat engine with many additional improvements. Its design is based on the critically acclaimed Close Combat – A Bridge Too Far, originally developed by Atomic Games, as well as the more recent Close Combat: The Longest Day. This is the most ambitious and most improved of the new Close Combat releases, but along with all the enhancements it retains the same addicting tactical action found in the original titles! Close Combat – Last Stand Arnhem comes with expanded force pools, reserve & static battlegroups, a troop point buying system, ferry and assault crossings, destructible bridges, static forces and much more! Also included in this rebuild are 60+ battles, operations and campaigns including a new enhanced Grand Campaign!

Immediate finish to a battle - amazing first for me

Post by Andrew Williams »

I just clicked begin and straight away the axis morale failed awarding me 3 VL's (all VL's were shared) - less than 1 second into the battle.

Both sides had 9 teams and deployment was 1/3 default deploy when exe can't work out what's going on.

Hasn't that got something to do with your opponents cohesion? I seem to recall this was a problem David spotted with TLD. If a battlegroup is forced to retreat its cohesion is so low that it can't face another battle the following turn and is therefore defeated immediately. It was fixed in TLD by allowing retreating BGs to preserve a minimal amount of cohesion.

I wouldnt be surprised if the save file errored out on the next turn when the campaign cycled back to a continued battle on Blankenberg Bridge.
