Fair enough. Just an old brain trying to sort things out. I wonder why it keeps insisting it read there was a native Falklands population....no matter. I've long been to the point of caring nothing for politics or world matters and keeping my perspective down on the individual level, where I can do some good, no matter what context it may occur in.

I'll leave what happens in the big picture to God and serve my fellow man, whoever he may be at the time. [;)]

I just got a War Event demanding that fourteen U-Boats be deployed to the North and Norwegian Seas because those nasty Tommies are coming to invade Norway. Sort of... There are torpedo attack roll modifiers from -1 to +2, and you start out with -1. You can spend political influence and prestige to improve them.

Ah - one of my greatest triumphs was with this game - pretty much crushing the German army with the French... i would have completely annihilated one half of the German Army except my opponents convinced me that the move that would have encircled the German Army was illegal... i found out the next day it WAS legal.

Ok, so we got the vet report back on Beaudy. He's not quite the mess we originally thought, but he's still a bit of a mess. Back left leg is atrophied, and has a cartilage pop on flexion. Not unexpected, and he's still pretty happy about his butt. Vet can fix that, and make him comfy.

Sent his bladder stones off to U. of Minnesota for assay. Results, folded in to his blood work, will tell the whole tale, and say what we should keep our eyes peeled for. Once we get those results back, it's diet definition time; the Hills vets are intensely interested in what's up with Beaudy. They want him as a poster child for dietary mediation. I like them. They are worried about the dog, not their CVs or what they can hustle.

Anyhoo, Beaudy has the absolute best of care (from our vet, Ann Rankin) and some serious corporate sponsorship, so my little pup ought to get righteous pretty darn quick. Will report, if ya'll care.

He passed on, in my arms, at a very respectable seventeen years. His ashes are in a nicely stained pine box on a shelf with many of the games he loved to destroy by pouncing on. My wife and I have since rescued two adult cats from our local Dumb Friends League. Here is a pic of my old friend in his favorite bed.
