Need Axis player (no vets please)

I'm looking for a axis player to do 43 campaign with me. Have not much exp with game besides playing as axis against AI. Would like to learn Sov, but would pref a 42 or 43 scen as I would get destroyed in a 41 game.

Can do about 3-4 turns a week, maybe more. I have no current PBEM games to cause any conflicts.

I will give it a go. Im on my 3rd 41-45 campaign as axis vs AI, but before you run off....

on my 1st campaign I ballsed up and took way too long moving as i was obsessed with pretty pockets. I quit at turn 17 (mud) as i wasnt even near Leningrad, (too busy sightseeing)
my second didnt last much longer as i hadnt figured out rail repaiar...my entire front was out of supply

....so i started again. now onto 3rd turn of blizzard and am determined not to quit now, (i've messed up loads of stuff, but have resisted going back to earlier saves). I WILL LEARN!!

Was looking for 43 campaign actually. Maybe 42 as last resort.

There are precious few '43 AAR's and most axis players seem to throw their toys out of the pram and quit by the looks of things, (just from what I’ve been reading, not personal experience). Getting your arse booted across Europe for 118 turns may not be fun. I am both apprehensive and daunted!

What’s your exp level with the AI game?

I am willing to treat it as a learning experience however as I’m currently in my first blizzard vs. AI GC and it’s an uphill learning curve that’s for sure. I've been haunting the war room and forums for tips and tricks on blizzard survival for weeks now.

I will give the ’43 GC a go, but i can’t guarantee to be much of a credible opponent, but i won’t go off in a strop

Do we need any house rules? I don’t really fancy defending Berlin with school kids armed with panzerfausts that’s for sure

good luck for your 43 adventure. from what i see, it seems (must not be correct, just my opinion) that the sovjets are a bit overpowerd in this game...let alone in 1943 with all the INF/CAV/MECH and tank corps.

heh, yeah, from reading the unravelling of the BigA vs. Oleg AAR debacle, I’m apprehensive to say the least.
I will treat is as a defence management and damage limitation exercise, however i am a little uncomfortable with the idea of being put into an unwinnable situation. Being fated to lose is not fun or entertaining IMO, but we shall see. There will most likely be a few balance patches out during the game.
Bring it on herr jzardos! I've never played PBEM since the days of........bloody hell, the '80's. Do I set it up or do you?

Ps bigbaba, how did you get your avatar pic to work? I’ve been farting about for weeks on and off in the profile settings and my pic still isn’t there!

Well if there's a consensus that the 43 scenario is unfair to the Axis, we can do 42 CG. I would hope at some point the developers would fix the bad uneven scenarios, but I know these types of changes can take time.

mate you send me a comment how to do it better and what i did wrong and where i went wrong, and now you ask to play no vets and you didnt play Humans before.....,should have the decency not to send comments to people how to do it better AFTER you played some vets at the least

Obviously you need to read my comments again. I mentioned that I probably wouldn't have done any better. Don't get mad at me that your opponent was very good player. He has played many games, so not blaming you on anything. That is why I'm trying to find somebody of equal skill, so that what happen to you doesn't happen to me.

So I'm not sure why you needed to comment here? My comments where based on the game. Just like I can watch a football game and by the play and score tell which side is getting kicked around. Does that mean I could do better if I was on the field? Heck no. So I hope you re-read my comments and don't be offended.

gids and I just had misunderstanding. I meant nothing personal nor was trying to make fun or insult his play. He had a very good opponent that would have beat me around the exact same way. I know gids will be a much tougher Sov player after that experience. So sometimes it's helpful to play a great player, will teach you many lessons to improve upon.
