Show all dice rolls

Post by Fred98 »

I have "Show All Dice Rolls" turned on.

An enemy unit is in FULL exposure

My arty bombarded that enemy unit. My computer bowled a 10 sided dice.

A dice roll of a 1 or a 2 or a 3 would all have been good results.

But I cannot see what number was bowled !

I'm not so sure you are supposed to be allowed to see what opponents are always rolling. That could lead to a lot of other cheats.

I figured out that if I scroll back up through 20 messages or so my dice rolls are there.

My dice rolls do not appear on a scren in front of me.

Hi Joe

Have you had a try with CopyText - thread - you can grab all the text in that box in one go for posterity/review.

Grrrr, I was so eager to test this out. Unfortunately my new Win7 seems to refuse to allow hotkeys on shortcuts to work. I'll have to solve that issue sometime this week...

Strange you can't set hotkeys to the shortcut ... you should be able to http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Create-keyboard-shortcuts-to-open-programs

I'm running in Vista and XP - don't have any Win7 machines at the moment.

Yes, I'm aware how to set up hot-keys, unfortunately my vista box blew up a short while ago and I finally decided to throw on win7 in an emergency since people kept raving so much about it. I don't know, so far I'm not too impressed with it in many aspects. Even PGII doesn't work on it, yet I was told it was supposed to be much more compatible with older games.

Hmm!

I'd been thinking of going to Win7 as I'd also heard it was OK and more stable than Vista ... maybe I'll wait till I'm pushed.

Well looks like no luck for me here. I see I'm not alone in the Windows7 community who can't get hotkeys to work. I did a bit of hacking around and got them to finally work... but unfortunately copytext seems to do everything else, except what I WANT it to do. Works on grabbing text from text editors, and everywhere else. It even grabs the title menu from Combat Command, but what it refuses to ever do is grab the text from the text panel.

I've even tried changing compatibility & permissions. Anyway, I guess this is what I deserve. Seems EVERY TIME I try to make things easier on myself by installing a new Winblows OS instead of a Linux distro I end up with all sorts of new problems.

PirateJock,

I'm with you, Vista 64 works fine for me, I have never had any issues with it. I can hold off until the next OS comes out.

Update ... I've got a new laptop running Win 7 and have CopyText running on it.

Set the shortcut keys by just pressing the key combination (I use Ctrl + Alt + T) with the Shortcut Key box selected. I've also got User Account Control turned off ... how annoying is it being asked if you want to run a program every time you fire it up!

I've also got User Account Control turned off ...

Ok, this sounds extremely risky to me. Particularly with a very insecure OS like the Winblows line.

Now, if you could turn this off for a PARTICULAR application, then maybe I could see the use here. I guess if that box is ALWAYS isolated from the net then it may be ok to save a few more clicks...

I work on the fact that I have never had UAC before, I don't rely on Windows for my online protection and the annoyance of keep getting asked to open programs outweighs the risk from getting hit by something dodgy. Now I've said all that guess what's going to happen!
