Turn 28 - start
blizzard, dec 4/4
Performance of my units during last Soviet's turn was shocking. I haven't expected anything like that. Out of 22 Soviet attacks, only 14 were successful. Moreover I won several crucial battles. It was shocking display of impact air-support have on combat results.
It turns out Encircled got his doctrines wrong, so in most of battles during December his forces were fighting without any bombers to tip balance and make the difference.
I am really, really pleased. When it has changed in January I saw how lucky I was.
In AGN area I got infantry regiment surrounded. Poor lads.

turn 29 - start
blizzard, jan 1/5
Last turn of Soviet attacks in December's misery is gone. Thanks to lack of air-support Encircled troops didn't achieve what I feared they would. Out of 31 attacks I lost only 14.
Still, situation is far from being good. Western part of AGN is barely able to keep cohesion. There is serious threat of encirclements.
AGC is in better condition. I am hard pressed but presence of panzers makes the difference and my withdrawal is more organised.
AGS is area of most intensive fighting. Belogrod an Kharkov are weakly held so there is great chance I will face dilemma of either abandoning of reinforcing this positions. But really intensive fighting take place in souther part of front. Boys in Voroshilovgrad were left for delay purposes. I accepted their sacrifices, but I am not so eager to loose panzer division. Something will have to be done.
I committed practically all mobile units and frost takes its toll.

Turn 29 - end
blizzard, jan 1/5
I keep withdrawing while increasing scale of my counter-attacks. Improvement of fighting efficiency let me be more daring. I made 7 attacks, 5 of them were successful.
In AGN area I accepted territory loses near Riga and focused my efforts on preservation of threatened divisions south of Pskov. During that turn I managed to conduct most successful attack so far - motorised division defeated strong soviet cavalry corps.[:)]
Business as usual in the centre. Although I have to mention, that ground between Bryansk and Belogrod is practically undefended.
AGS was quite busy with straightening things out. I have broken encirclement of panzer division, plus few too bold Soviet units were informed that price of land increased in new month.
Overall I fell more secure. I hope I am right.
