CV stuck in Sydney
The Lexington seems to be stuck in between repair and available status in Sydney.
It had some sys damage along with 25 major flt but is too large to make use of shipyard. I was going to park the Lex in Sydney for a week before sending to Pearl and, so, put it into pierside repair to clear up some of the sys damage. I then switched it to readiness status and, of course, it had to wait a couple of days to be ready. But after waiting the indicated time (and the relevant mouseover no longer shows any more need to wait) the Lex did NOT appear as an Active Ship at Sydney. This held true for a couple of days.
So I again switch it to pierside and then back to readiness and, after the appropriate wait time, the Lex still does not appear as available although it is listed, in the ship repair screen, as being in readiness mode (with no further wait time needed).

I had a patrol boat with serious damage that took shelter in a front line port. I disbanded the TF to give it time to pump out the water. The time of its refit hit, and it decided to refit. I tried to switch it to readiness status, and that happened, but it's still hiding in the port. It appears it's stuck in that little port for at least 100 days and will still have major damage at the end. So I will bet the Lexington is refitting. Given that it can't repair the flooding damage, I bet it's permanently stuck in Sydney.

i'm having the same prob w/ CVE 'Manila Bay', she's under repair in Manila w/ only 2 points of system damage & is not refitting or upgrading. Sometimes i can find her w/ the show-all-ships 'S' hotkey, but she don't ever show when i examine the Manila base hex.

That's a sure sign she is in the "delay time" after refitting.

Does the delay time get added on after the repair time? If so, a ship stuck refitting in a port where it can't reasonably repair is SOL.

Something urgently to be investigated by Michael I think.
There could be some flaw in the logic of the program.
If an upgrade starts in a yard which cannot handle the repair it could be that the ship will have to stay in that port indefinitely.
Same the other way around - if a repair starts and then an upgrade is initiated the port cannot handle.
Whatever - lets all yell for help. Michael?[&o]

Yes. The minimum conversion time is resetting the repair time regardless of the 'return to service'.
The min time is about 9 days in the save.

OK, that means after the conversion time, the ship is free to leave?

RE: CV stuck in Sydney
I am going to make it a bit more obvious that ships are locked in to a min conversion time.
1. The refitting messages on the ships will show the delay countdown.
2. You won't be able to pick Readiness if there is still a min delay outstanding for the ship.
Once a ship under goes an upgrade, it neeeds to stay put in the port until it finishes. Interrupting an upgrade should be allowed according to the notes.
In the case of the Lex, it is 36K tonnage doesn't fit in the 30K shipyard at Sydney. The minimum shipyard for the upgrade is 25, which allows Sydney to do it.

Yes, the upgrade time is 27 days according to the editor. So once the delay completes it will be 'freed'. It obvously has been in port for 18 days already.ORIGINAL: herwin

My understanding is: the Lex will finish upgrading in Sydney but will end the upgrade with the same 25 major flt damage she went into port with (and perhaps with the sys damage too). The upgraded Lex will then be able to go to Pearl and have the major flt damage fixed.
In any case, the chowderhead who sent the Lex to the east cost of Australia (rather than a smaller CV that would have fit into the Sydney shipyard) will be reassigned to scraping barnacles off of fishing boats in Dutch Harbor.

Agreed. I work in support, and I can honestly say Micheal puts to shame any other support I have seen. I come here just to read the tech forums & recharge my " I wanna be like Mike" batteries.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
RE: CV stuck in Sydney
Hello All, This may be a bit off, but if you have over 1000 ships in port I've discovered that all available ships don't show. If you create an escort tf the ships should show. You have to reduce the number below 1000 for all to show normally.

Actually that isnt it at all. Michael is an Ozzie and in Sydney. He just doesnt want a US ship stuck in a Ozzie port. Think of all them US sailors running rampant in Sydney. He's only fixing it so that wont happen [:D]
