Off work today-celebrating my 15th wedding anniversary with my lovely bride. [:)]

So you took the day to celebrate with your wife and you still find the time to post in The Thread. I bet you got your turns completed and sent too. It must be love!

Steve's right. And now, I'm leaving this conversation-faster than a French border guard with a coupon for cigarettes.

Actually I was referring to our shared Franco-Canadian heritage. After all, it's pretty easy to count how many conquerors came out of Quebec. [:D]

And name me one famous French Canadian general. [:D]

Aw, c'mon Steve. Marquis de Montcalm. A straight up fellow, by anyone's analysis.

And the Canadians weren't lookin to conquer, just to hang. How 'bout Gen Hull getting whacked in 07/12? Granted Isaac Brock got whacked at Queenstown on 10/13/12, but how 'bout Gen Van Rensselaer getting utterly crushed in 10/12? And then there was Henry Dearborn in 11/12 who just couldn't get the militia to get off their butts.

Them Canajans did a a good deed. Eh.

Congratulation there Andre, for 15 years; Crystal is the traditional gift. So you'd better get shopping there Sport, as a Woman without a wedding gift is very unforgiving.

Indeed, but he was French not Quebecois.

I'll settle for the designer / developer of the Garand rifle, thank you very much. No better rifle in the Second World War. Designer was une grenouille quebecois, dude:

But in terms of number of famous Quebecois generals, I'm thinking of a round number. A perfectly round number...[:D]

Before I become the subject of a Canadian jihad, let me just say this: what I meant is that Canadians are generally known world wide as Nice people.(Many of times when it was hazardous to my health to be American overseas, it was a good thing to mistaken for being Canadian). Everybody likes Canadians. That's not to say that they can't fight (WW1 and WW2, as well as Korea and Afghanistan attest to that). They are just generally not known for picking fights or invading anyone. (Hockey games withstanding!). [:D]

As far as the frogs fighting (in case I've offended the amphibian protection league), it's not that frogs can't fight , or won't fight, it's just that when you see them in the wild, they are far more likely to be mating than fighting. (This is called having their priorities in order). [:D] In this regard Andre (15 years happily married) and I (30 years happily married) are mopre like frogs. [:D]

There! Is there anyone else I need to calm down and mollify? [&:][:D]

Sorry, while there were Militia , the bulk were British regulars. And regulars almost always trump militia. [8|]

Yes. I'm terribly offended. You can mollify me by removing your offending Allied units from all areas North of of Daly Waters and shipping them all to Tasmania until early 1944. That will calm me down, I assure you. [:'(]
