Lunch -- Sept. 17

Wow, looks like I outdid myself.  I smashed into that on three flanks from the 5’th Division, and knocked out two counters.  Then the rest of the Stack-of-Death disappeared after failing all quality checks badly on retreat.

But before I could do anything else, immediately another stack shows up.  And I see I gave it such a brutal smashing up on the beaches that they didn’t even give me an EZoC to worry about, so I shifted my units around a bit and brought up more counters from the 5’th Division.  Now here I am about to deliver another arsenal of mass destruction…

This really is getting too easy when you snowball early success out of proportion in your favour.

2 P.M. --> 8 P.M Sept 17.

Well, a lot of the hours after that were rinse & repeat.  I kept on with the full assaults each turn, and after 8 P.M. had come around, the last of those Red reinforcements had been eliminated.

I also gained initiative, but unfortunately lost it due to an off-board Russian arty that keeps bombarding me.  Eventually I get disrupted and there isn’t much I can do about that.

I fast forwarded to the afternoon on Sept 20, but no sign of any activity as of yet.  If the enemy wants to make sure I dig in and entrench to level III fortification, that’s fine by me.  But I am eager for more bloodshed…

Lunch -- Sept 23.

Alright, kept fast forwarding into the future.  Eventually at 2 A.M. on Sept. 23, another group of reinforcements from Russia decided to come upon the shores.  I showed them the same treatment as the others, and eventually by noon, on that day the last of their counters (a division HQ) was destroyed by me and that was the end of that.

Despite this scenario is coded to go for 3 days longer, since I have killed off EVERY enemy unit, and no reinforcements are left, it has ended the scenario here.  Decisive victory.

Now my question is, how the hell did the real Axis powers screw that battle up so bad?  :P

I think I’ll have to re-do this one over, and fight on the communist side myself to see how things play out.

My wargaming buddy Dan and I have begun our most ambitious wargaming project yet - the SPI classic "Drive on Stalingrad"! This game covers the Case Blue German 1942 summer offensive in southern Russia. Drive on Stalingrad ("DoS" for short) using a modified form of the system originally developed for "Panzergruppe Guderian", a groundbreaking design which featured the concept of "untried" units, whose combat strengths were unknown to both players until the instant that they entered combat. DoS expands on this system with a more complex air system and the controversial "Hitler Directive" table. The 'controversy' stemmed from some wargamers (primarily those playing the German side) being rather annoyed that their plans could be upset by directives taking them away from their intended objectives. For Dan and I, who have read quite a bit on the actual campaign, the table is actually one of the more enjoyable aspects of the game, as the real German effort was indeed often tripped up by the interventions of der Fuhrer at most inopportune times.

Unfortunately I believe you are just another SEO who is spamming for your clients using random tid-bits taken from the internet. Please don't clutter it up with your random garbage. There is enough trash on the internet as it is.
