Ok here is a little curveball. I just upgraded my OS to Windows 7. Changed nothing else. Straight upgrade from Vista 64 to 7 64. Went back to play the game and it looks perfectly normal! I am happy, but obviously will help to figure this out for anyone else.

I have exactly the same problem - just installed on an XP machine. Can't afford windows 7 so that is not a good fix for me! Have tried everything everyone suggested above but it looks like an XP/Vista problem maybe.
Screen dump just same as above. Hope someone is looking into this.
many thanks
John

Possibly a 64 bit problem, but I'm running XP 32 (SP3) without this issue.
RE: Info Display L Side Partially Unreadable - Game Basically Unplayable
I installed our latest beta version onto a 64 bit Win 7 Home Premium laptop that has a full HD disply and I got the problem. It was because the normal font size for that disp[lay is in fact greater than 96 dpi. So I set the font size to smallest and hey presto problem fixed. However, with such a display you have to live with the smaller looking font.

Sussed it!
Found something on the Nvidia control panel which gave me the option to use my display scaling ability rather than the nvidia scaling option. This cured it for all resolutions. Tried 120dpi rather than 96dpi and problem came back so it could be a combination of things. 96dpi definitely needed and then find a sytem of scaling that lets that left panel appear in full.
Many thanks everyone

Would you care to share some more details &/or a screenshot of the relevant control panel & settings. I'm sure this is the sort of thing that will come up again (though probably in some other product) and it is helpful to see what the possibilities are...

Thanks for the solution Arjuna - I was having exactly the same problem after loading the game onto my new laptop -it was driving me nuts.

It this something you are going to look at fixing?
I would like to buy this game but don't want to restart my computer everytime I have to play the game to change the dpi setting back and forth. This sort of thing will be a dealbreaker. This is the first game I have experienced this issue with so the fix cannot be too hard.
Thank for your time.

RE: Info Display L Side Partially Unreadable - Game Basically Unplayable
The size of the font isn't an issue it was the overlapping..the small font isn't a bug so nothing needs fixing. Really can't see them making the font bigger...but you never know.
RE: Info Display L Side Partially Unreadable - Game Basically Unplayable
As I said in the other thread, to support larger fonts would mean a complete redesign of the sidebar displays. That would be a very big job indeed. We are unlikely to go down that route in the near future. I appreciate that for some this may be a deal breaker and I am sorry we will lose your custom but I just cannot justify the investment of time and money required at this stage.

Arjuna:
Sorry, didn't know you gusy are so quick to reply and look at the forums regularly. Thanks for both your quick replies.

Not trying to argue but the DPI issue is a bug, or oversight if you will. They game wasn't designed to take into account people that use DPI scaling, a standard windows feature for many many years. I have used this feature on my current PC which I have had for nearly 3 years and this is the first game that have had issues with it. One or two freeware programs, like Freetrack, have had issues but this is the first game that hasn't been designed this in mind. To change the DPI, you have to restart windows. So to be able to play this game, I would have to restart twice every time I want to play.
I understand that it is easy to overlook, but in my opinion should be fixed. Irellevant now because Arjuna has kindly replied very quickly to say that it wasn't going to be fixed and most importantly, because I haven't bought the game.
Im just sad that I have just discovered these brilliant wargames and now won't be able to enjoy them. Im not intersted in the Hex variety but this would have been brilliant. First there was the new Combat Mission games, crippled by crazy DRM, and now the DPI issue in this. Oh well, time to move on and hope that their next one will be able to be played on the 120 DPI setting.
Thanks for your time gents.

So to be able to play this game, I would have to restart twice every time I want to play.
In DOS times one would have to practically reboot for every game that required different memory configurations.
It didn't stop me from playing those games.
Rebooting windows takes a few minutes, but one can make a hot drink in the mean time to get ready for a glorious wargame session.
Still a small price to pay I think.
Starting up a large scenario in Combat Mission 2 can take 5 minutes loading time.

This problem has just started for me - wasn't a problem until recently: I have installed a new graphics card and the last two patches...not sure which triggered the problem. A real pain as I can't see remaining ammo. I haven't been able to interpret the suggestions here to cure the problem. Can anyone give a step by step work around?

This problem usually arises if you are trying to run the game with a font size other than 100%. Go to your Display control panel and set the font size to the 100% value.
RE: Info Display L Side Partially Unreadable - Game Basically Unplayable
I think I have got it at 100% - the font size is 96 dpi and Segoe UI size 9 - I can't see where to change this although (I think) I've changed the size to 8 in menus etc. It definitely didn't do this before and I didn't consciously change anything! This is in the Windows control panel. I can't see a place to change it on the graphics card control panel.

I'm still stuck with this - I can no longer see remaining ammunition or the control of objectives bar. I had made no changes to settings so I really don't understand why this issue has appeared. If the solutions on this thread work can somebody post a screenshot of the thing I need to change!
Getting quite frustrated...maybe this is some sort of realism addition to mimic the dodgy radios!

What version of the OS are you running?
What is the brand, type and model of your graphics card?
Can you please take a screen shot of your display control panel showing the font size, save it as a jpg file, zip it and upload it here? Thanks.

Can you also provide a DX Diag Report. It's simple to produce one. See here for instructions: tm.asp?m=3026705
