Need some command advice - should I keep a platoon together?

Post by franktank »

Does it have any impact if I keep a platoon in the same general area as that platoons specific command unit? Or, are the units really one big force and they can be all jumbled up around the battlefeild with little or no thought as to platoon and specific HQ units.

Thanks in Advance.

Cheers,

Well if you hold down the space bar you will see the the command influence circle. Units within it recover from suppression etc. faster and over all just work better. I usually more about the map it teams of command unit, rifle unit and MG infantry (BAR, MG etc.). I keep the command units in cover behind the other units (but close enough to have influence) as you get few of them overall and they are expensive. Of coarse there are times the command units join in the fighting directly. "Rifle" type units usually have pretty good internal leadership so they can operate independently (check the space bar). Also command units have good endurance and don't carry large weapons so sometimes I send them off to capture distant victory locations. I have noticed that command units make all units in thier sphere of command do everything better. Try it out and I think you'll notice a differance.

In RL a good commander could make or break an engagement,
