You can actually influence the reviewers from the magazines. If they think their readers like the game they tend to give more positive reviews themselves. Sad but true! They also give more coverage to games that have lots of player interest so registering your interest on these sites all helps! Games with lots of good reviews are also easier to sell to retail. Retail buyers dont play games - they just go to metacritic!

You have a depressingly low opinion of reviewers Zimoa! It really doesn't work that way - not in my experience anyway.

Most reviewers are far too busy/lazy/self-confident to spend time trying to second-guess or straw-poll their readers.

There are tons of great reviewers out there, don`t get me wrong!

We are more talking about: it greatly helps us if people post their reviews on these sites, so the big sites might consider review small potato Indie developers as us.
