Edit: Sorry if I sounded rough. Just I wanted to offer my two cents but I was in a hurry at that moment. That's why I was so straight in my answer.

Half people german, rest from all europe except for some from down-under and one from USA, I believe. We were about 30 in 5 or 6 tables, depending of optionals and level of player.

Extra nice village if you like that stuff (I do) no stop for lunch, just eat something in another room while enemy plays, timetable from 10 to 22 (or it was to  20?)

Dinner usually with your table or friends (those who have) on with other table teams. Price reasonable for dining out.

Locals (germans) or whoever took car there usually drive those in need to the place, which is a little bit out ot town.

In my table (at least) flexibility if somebody forgot sth. which was very obvious along the game, even too much but I cannot complain because I was benefitted from it. [:)]

Where in Germany is the Euro WiFCon 2011? And when is it? Is there a webpage for Euro WiFCon?

Of course there is a website:

http://www.eurowif.de/

It is in a small village called Hofgeisnar (never heard of the place) in the near of Kassel (now that's a nice city to visit, when you're in Germany...).
I think I will take a look on one of those days. Just lurking around...

[:(] WiFCon doesn't seem to have a website this year. You Europeans have much more class than us Americans, I guess.

Hofgeismar [:)] It's like 20 km from Kassel. In the Grimm brothers land.

Gracias, you have been very helpful :) If i should have enough free days from work (not easy, since i have big problem with the boss) i would come.

I noticed (from web site and annual) that most of the people play WiFFe deluxe. Did you have even WiFFE + DODIII games?

No problem.

I don't really know. I play DeLuxe, and I saw that some people were playing variants, I think one table was playing DoD but don't know for sure or which version. For that maybe you should contact Markus (at www.eurowif.de ), he is willing to give the necessary info, such as that one.

I have only been last year, this one will be my second.

Now I signed in for the EuroWIFCon 2011 in Hofgeismar. There is still possibility to check in.
Infos in Englisch are available at
http://www.eurowif.de/
Reservation in the local Hotel is possible via contacting eurowif.

Most people play WIFFE deluxe, as i know some classic but no DOD.

The last years there were people from Scandinavia, Spain and great Brittain I heard.

24 have registered so far and more than 70% are german-speaking, so I would like to encourage especially players from abroad to register at www.eurowif.de. We want to have at least 6 english-speaking tables after all.

We have a nice hotel www.zumaltenbrauhaus.de all for us in a nice little town and a large playing hall with a kitchen, so there is an all-day supply of free coffee.
I have made a calculation for the overall cost of 10 days of wif including accomodation, mineral water, some beer in the evening, the pizza boy every day (the breakfast buffet is included), a free dinner at the ending party (saturday night) and the attendance fee. 450€ (650 USD) should be enough, assuming you refrain from spending money at the hotel bar with the notorious Norwegians. Transportation from and to Frankfurt airport might be arranged for a minimum fee of 1 Pizza (contact me for details); otherwise a trip with Deutsche Bahn www.bahn.de to Hofgeismar and back is about 60€ if you buy your ticket well in advance.

Contact me at eurowif@web.de for more information.

Thanks. although I am not too worried about winning but about enjoying a week of gaming. Maybe because I accept that with my present level I won't (my lebvel is good but I am far from experts) but also, I will not be interviewed for the tv or anything if I win, much more important to enjoy a week playing in beautiful Essen.
