modding lethality of weapons

Post by Javolenus »

Hi There,

I downoaded a mod from the game's website, which is an exel datasheet full of stats. I'm a novice when it comes to modding, so I wondered, is it possible to reduce the lethality of weapons using this datasheet? Any help (or even a reply) would be appreciated. Many thanks in advance for help.

Yes

... but regard the excel sheet as a modding tool rather than an actual mod. Make-your-own mod!

Make the changes you want on the modding tool and then copy back into the game. Keep copies at all stages in the process and tread warily.

Hi There and many thanks indeed for the reply--much appreciated. OK, I'll do as you say and amend the spreadsheet. Just one other question: how do I copy the spreadsheet info back into the game? Sorry for such a basic question!

Have you tried copying the spreadsheet's entire contents and using them to completely replace the contents of the game's file? Have to confess to not having done this in Modern Tactics but this technique works in any other version of the game I've tried.
