German AT weapons query

Command Ops: Battles From The Bulge takes the highly acclaimed Airborne Assault engine back to the West Front for the crucial engagements during the Ardennes Offensive. Test your command skills in the fiery crucible of Airborne Assault’s “pausable continuous time” uber-realistic game engine. It's up to you to develop the strategy, issue the orders, set the pace, and try to win the laurels of victory in the cold, shadowy Ardennes.
Command Ops: Highway to the Reich brings us to the setting of one of the most epic and controversial battles of World War II: Operation Market-Garden, covering every major engagement along Hell’s Highway, from the surprise capture of Joe’s Bridge by the Irish Guards a week before the offensive to the final battles on “The Island” south of Arnhem.

German AT weapons query

Post by Agema »

Just wondering here, but for the supposedly best infantry AT weapons of WW2, I find Panzerfausts and Panzerschrecks seem to be really ineffective.

Whether in defence or attack, I seem to very, very, frequently get battalions firing off their entire PzFaust/PzSck AP ammo - some 20 per company or 50+ per battalion - without so much as scraping the paintwork on an armoured car.

I think the worst was when one company of 13 Shermans rolled through a village with an (admittedly volkgrenadier) battalion defending with ambush, and by the end it had rolled straight through with no lost tanks, whilst the entire VG battalion retreated or routed.

On the one hand, such is life, and sometimes chance is cruel; but then when it or similar happens a lot, is something up? Were they really that ineffective?

Thanks for the feedback. In fact I have been working on AArm fire this week for the second patch, which should be out real soon. This is an area we will address.
