Great game, but having some growing pains.

Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: The German-Soviet War 1941-1945 is a turn-based World War II strategy game stretching across the entire Eastern Front. Gamers can engage in an epic campaign, including division-sized battles with realistic and historical terrain, weather, orders of battle, logistics and combat results.

The critically and fan-acclaimed Eastern Front mega-game Gary Grigsby’s War in the East just got bigger and better with Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: Don to the Danube! This expansion to the award-winning War in the East comes with a wide array of later war scenarios ranging from short but intense 6 turn bouts like the Battle for Kharkov (1942) to immense 37-turn engagements taking place across multiple nations like Drama on the Danube (Summer 1944 – Spring 1945).

Great game, but having some growing pains.

Post by Peltonx »

Wite is truely a good game and the best ever on the eastern front of WW2, I been playing wargames from age 12 to 48.

The AI is truely the best ever in any game I have ever played.

Its complex yet playable and no game is the same as the last. All 12 of my campaigns to date have been defferent and fun.

I think that the longer campaigns were never really play tested enough, but having said that I don't think it was humanly possible because of all the hours needed to be put into a single game.

Probably the long campaigns were "play tested" by computer vs computer games.

At this time some problems have started to appear in the longer campaigns between humans. The devs as always are working on these issues and I am sure that they will get resolved at some point in the near future.

Thanks for the great game and all the hard work thats gone into the game and is on going.

The sign of something being really "good", from a movie to a game, is the ability to evoke emotion, and of course, not just the "boy, this is really bad!" kind of emotion. WitE has caused a lot of obsession in quite a few people as we ponder if that last move was really the right way to go. Well said by Pelton, and kudos to everyone who supports this wonderful game.
