Air raid. Typical starting outward and moving in. I cant figure out how to hit the airfields near Smolensk like the old days but this is a good result. This is actually the air casualties at the begin of turn 2.
AGS after Soviet 1st move. Kovel pocket was broken which I expected because I messed up the Calvary division move. I sent an extra Panzer corps south to bust up any hope of a Soviet line anchoring to the north around Rovno. The plan was to send a 1st Panzer army corp to the center in its place. My thinking here is the extra Panzer corps makes a bigger impact in the south on turn one then it does in the center as you can get the pockets closed without it.
I also pushed forward with 17th army enough to make sure no leakers could get to my rails.
As you can see he has set up a huge checkerboard across the south.
The end of turn 2 I only took one screenshot in the AGN area. River was crossed and he is building up forces near Pskov. AGC and AGN destroyed thier respective pockets.
Well I made a determination early that the amount of force he committed to this offensive would determine how much of the Axis allies I would commit to the war if they were all released by his actions.
You will see as I continue with the AAR he indeed commits a lot of troops to this endeavor.
AGN plows forward. Typically I send a Panzer Corps from 3rd Panzer and 6 infantry divisions from reinforcements north but this game I decided to run the Leningrad push with what was given. I did add a Corps from 9th army that starts in the 16th army start zone. I was rather surprised to get across the river but perhaps my opponent counted Panzer divisions and didnt reinforce as much as I have seen.

3rd Panzer thunders towards Smolensk. I am not used to the extra Panzer corps in this area and its presence is making a big difference. Industry in Mogilev is trapped and Vitebsk falls quickly.

AGS hits the checkerboard like a wave and a few small pockets are formed. Panzers punch through towards Kiev. Lvow pocket holds on with his forces pushing towards Hungary.
Turn 3 Hungary final - Hes all in here I am anticipating Hungarians coming free soon. I have not been attacking him so it can be said he sorta did this all on his own.
