[REL Beta] [Shadows] Star Trek - The Picard Era
RE: [REL] TRSE Star Trek Mod v1.5
Ok, guess where I found it....in my kitchen [:D] I will edit this post while getting all the info. Shouldn´t take that long.
Romulus Star System:
Star: named Romulus or Eisn (depends on literatur)
Star Type: never confirmed
Native Species: Romulans and Remans
Planet count: 4
Moons: at least 1
1 Planet: ----- unnamed
2 Planet: -- Romulus --- Continental (Class M)----------- at least one moon
3 Planet: ---- Remus ------ unclear* (Class Q)---- no satellite
4 Planet: ---- unnamed
* Botf: Romulus/Remus are both earthlike planets. While Remus is a non-earthlike planet in Star Trek: Nemesis. This planet has a slow rotation resulting in one side always facing the sun. I would go for a low quality vulcanic planet with a ton of rare resources and a starting population of Remans.

Cardassia Star System
Star: named Cardassia
Star Type: Red (KOV)
Native Species: Cardassians
Planet Count: 8
Moons: never confirmed
1 Planet: -- Cardassia 1 ------ Vulcanic (Class B)
2 Planet: -- Cardassia 2 ------ Vulcanic (Class B)
Asteroid belt
3 Planet: -- Cardassia 3 ------ Earthlike (Class M)
4 Planet: -- Hutet ------------ Earthlike (Class M)
5 Planet: -- Cardassia Minor -- Earthlike (Class M)
6 Planet: -- Cardassia Prime -- Earthlike (Class M)
7 Planet: -- Cardassia 7 ------ unclear* (Class Q)
Asteroid belt
8 Planet: -- Cardassia 8 ------ Gas Giant (Class I)
* Cardassia 7 belongs to the same class of planet then Remus. Both planet have a excentric orbit and offer both a quite hostile environment. Since the lack of different planet types I would go for a low quality vulcanic planet.

Sol System
Star: Sol
Star Type: Yellow (G2V)
Native Species: Humans
Planet Count: 8 (Pluto no longer included)
Moons: about 64
1 Planet -- Mercury -- Vulcanic (Class B) ---- no moon
2 Planet -- Venus ---- Vulcanic (Class N) ---- no moon
3 Planet -- Earth ---- Continental (Class M)
4 Planet -- Mars ----- Desert (Class K)
Asteroid Belt
5 Planet -- Jupiter -- Gas Giant (Class J)
6 Planet -- Saturn --- Gas Giant (Class J)
7 Planet -- Uranus --- Frozen Gas Giant (Class J)
8 Planet -- Neptune -- Frozen Gas Giant (CLass J)
Kuiper Belt
->Including all 64 moons in a single system would be.....well i dont think there would be any space left for your ships. [:D] So I will only mention a max of 3 moons per planet.
Earth: ---- Lunar ---- Barren (Class D)
Mars: ---- Phobos --- Barren
------------ Deimos --- Barren
Jupiter: -- Europa --- Ice Moon
------------ Ganyede -- Barren
------------ Io ------- Vulcanic
Saturn: --- Thetis --- Barren
------------ Lapetus -- Ice Moon
------------ Rhea ----- Barren
Uranus: --- Ariel ---- Barren
------------ Umbriel -- Barren
------------ Oberon --- Barren
Neptune: -- Triton --- Barren
------------ Nereid --- Barren

Edit: I used the ingame planet types best fitting to the original planet/moon. The "class" is from Star Trek Star Charts. Just in case someone wanna choose a different planet type for playing while staying close to canon.
So many interesting solar object in sol and the only thing you can do is to make them barren....[;)]

Hi Tigan. Thanks for the info. Just to add to it a bit.
The Geoffrey Mandel Star Charts, which are considered to be pretty close to canon, shows Romulus as a Binary system with a Type M spectrum. Which star is type M is anyone's guess, but perhaps the main star is type M and the smaller star is a white dwarf possibly.
I seem to have read somwhere that Romulus has 3 moons. You can check Memory Alpha for canon material and Memory Beta for non-canon material if you like.

Maybe I´m to stupid to read a text properly.....on which page/chapter did you find the info Romulus is a binary system? I´m just curious [:)]
Most material for Romulus is from Memory Alpha. I keep checking Star charts and MA for the other main systems. IMO both contains way to less info.

It's not actually text. It's shown on the map. I've put together the map piece with the key for you.

You forgot Pluto. [;)]
Yes I realize they declared it not a planet, but it is a planetoid and it does have a moon. And sorry, I learned long ago and it will always be a planet to me.

Pluto might not be the end of the story, some other bodies were discovered beyond it as well iirc.

RE: [REL] TRSE Star Trek Mod v1.5
Pluto is what's called a Dwarf Planet. This allows us to determine for ourselves whether it belongs alongside the large planets. For me, it does belong with the rest of us. It is, however technically just a large Keiper belt object, of which there are many others as Data said.
Also, if we're talking about large spherical moons, then 64 sounds about right. Non-spherical small moons, however, we're talking hundreds. Just depends how you want to look at it I suppose.

As far as drawf planets, our solar system has at least 5 identified at present: Pluto, Eris, Ceres, Haumea, and Makemake. And there could be as many as 200 in the Kuiper Belt.
Lots of interesting reading when you start researching it.

Astronomy is what made me love SF in the first place. When you realize how magnificent the universe really is and that we can't go to all those places atm you need a way out [:)]

RE: [REL] TRSE Star Trek Mod v1.5
I think that's the story for most of us who watch spaced based Science Fiction. We want a glimpse of what it might be like out there.
RE: [REL] TRSE Star Trek Mod v1.5
I do not think you guys know how much astronomy has changed in my life time...
The Big Bang theory competed with Steady State theory.
The Earth was created by a star passing too close to the sun pulling large amounts of gas out of both, thus creating planets... the stellar gas accretion theory was only beginning to gain acceptance.
And Black Holes? They were just a theory too...

Hi Igard, I tried downloading your this particular ST mod but files are no longer available.
i was only available to download the Borg mod and sound effects, but the rest of files are apparenlty no longer available.
Any way to still get the mod?

Knowing Igard, he'll make them available again in a flash....how dare those sites prevent our usage of those mods [:)]

I hope so Data.
Do I need the latest (1508) patch to play this mod?

All of the modders, and Igard most of all, adapt their mods to new game versions so I'm sure he still has all the versions for all the mods. He's thorough like that, very romulan of him [:)]
