BTW what a game! Yudenich at the gates of Petrograd, Tzaitsyn and Samara in Red hands, Poland attacking around Vilnius. Impressive situation. Siberian are yet holding Perm, but Red are strong everywhere.

Indeed! The best session I've had so far. [8D]
Btw, I had just defeated Makhno who had captured Azov... My Cossack forces have diminished alarmingly due to heavy fighting...

I wonder if Stalin survived the slaughter, or is that SOB still alive?

Yes, for now relegated in a remote command [:D]
RE: Fatal Years for 1.03
This game offers some interesting insights about the Balt situation in FY.
Contrary to the official version of RUS, German Freikorps and Poland are independent factions, AI driven, pursuiving their own political and military agendas. Enemies to Red they are a menace too for the Southern Whites player, controlling Yudenich forces, activated by use of an option and Baltic forces (Estonian, Latvian and Lettons forces).
In AUgust 19, YUdenich is at the Petrograd gates, but the city seems to be heavily garrisoned. In the same time, Poland has taken the upper hand by seizing Vilius and Riga, forcing S. Whites player to use against the larger part of the Estonian forces.
Poles have captured Misnsk too.

The Red AI is certainly devoting most of its forces against Siberian Whites and Southern Whites in the Kuban area. Siberians have been chased from the Volga banks and they have to face some green uprising.

Before that I had sent the British Navy to the shores of Petrograd in a kamikaze-like support mission. All its ships were sunk, lol.

and it's early October 19 [:D].
Next version should be uploaded tonight or tomorrow.
RE: Fatal Years for 1.03
OK.
But do you want to add Kelchevsky? I can create the portrait, but he is not in the game right now, you should add him, as a staffer for example with Sidorin [:)]

I will integrate him, but not in the next version, as any changes in the unit and model database could force to start a new game. I'm waiting a few more days, if some new leader ideas are coming...[:)]

If you want some new portraits just tell me, it depends on the availability of a decent source portrait [:)]
Are you reading 3 books at the same time?! I hope that at different times along the day [:'(]

I read always first introduction, conclusion and a few random pages. This test is generally sufficient to discover the real value of a book.
Not one of the is utterly crap. The Stewart seems very good, even if the anti-bolshevik tone is sometimes blurring the information value.
Smele's book appears to be very detailed, to the risk to lose the overall appraisal of the situation. It is certainly better at studying the economics and political aspects of the Siberian faction than for military.
The last one is certainly like any pamphlet: exxagerated but throwing some new ideas in the field, which is always good.
Thanks [:)]
RE: Fatal Years for 1.03
Smele is also the author of an annotated bibliography of the RCW
http://books.google.es/books?id=XN1k1M2 ... ry_r&cad=0
Considers Kenez books as the definitive history of anti-Bolshevik on South Russia. I you are interested in them, tell me [;)]f
Stewart as dated (published in 1933) but still one of the best accounts of the civil war
Somin not listed
