Iron Cross 2nd Class...Yeah?????

Two of my units have received the Iron Cross, 2nd Class. However I see no stat changes. In addition the manual doesn't say anyting about the "awards" bonus'es. Any Information would be appreciated.

A unit will get a medal for every 50/100...etc kills, when a unit has a medal there is a chance that the unit will get a hero.
A hero will give random stat bonusses, though they will not show up when you check the details, you need to hover over the picture of the hero (I expect this is being worked on, a future release/patch might improve this).

Stat bonus can vary from +1 to +3 to stats like attack, defense, movement, range, initiative, spotting.
I think only artillery units can get the range bonus and movement, range and spotting are limited to +1.

You can get a maximum of 3 hero's.
