Question on viewing unit battle history during deployment

Is there a way to view a unit's battle history during a campaign deployment phase?

You can't use the normal right click (in 1 button mouse mode) because that deploys/undeploys a unit on the map. Just thinking it would be helpful to see a unit's hero abilities to optimize their deployment during campaign planning.

Alt-click the unit. There is a list of Hotkeys in the library.

Upon further review: the alt-click does work to view the unit detail screen when I first start the game. However, (at least on my PC) it does not work if I alt-tab out of game to the desktop then go back to the game and try to use the alt-click function again. A bit odd... but at least I know what not to do.
