Campaigns on the Danube

I have just recently purchased Campaigns on the Danube. The disk appears to be version 2.0. I have installed the program; but it will not start. The program loads until I get a picture of massed French troops marching to battle. Then the program hangs up there. Checking I always get the report that the program is "not responding".

How do I fix this?
