Don- A Babe for your collection- SS Alagna

Post by Buck Beach »

A Babe for your collection http://www.flotilla-australia.com/jburke.htm

Appears to have been quite active in and out of Queensland

http://www.northqueenslandatwar.com/htd ... _index.htm

Several good photos of her here: http://trove.nla.gov.au/picture/result? ... +Alagna%22

If you have her, I would be interested the data you have.

Buck

BTW do you have the HMAS ADELE? She is sort of in a class of her own. http://www.ozatwar.com/ran/hmasadele.htm

Lovely picture here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/16118167@N04/5186937721/

Makes you want to get on your boat shoes.

I have Alagna as a Wilcania xAKL (Babes class 2766). Probably not exact, but reasonable....

Adele I have as a general large schooner class. Might need some work...

Fascinating! What about HMS Dabchick and HMS Redshank[8D]?

Must have missed those two converted trawlers...

OK, Dabchick should be in as of November, 1943. Looks like Redshank was only used along the African coast and at Madagascar, outside the AE map area.

Thanks.
