Modswap unworking without editing ini

Post by Harmonica »

Just downloaded TLD and tried using the Modswap listed on the site, unfortunately it doesn't detect the install of TLD without editing the .ini file because it is looking in the wrong place (doesn't ask you where you installed the game), and the registry entries it checks are out of date.

For TLD you need to make these changes to CCModSwap.ini (and similar applies to other CC games):

Code: Select all

[General]
 LastVersion=5
this is installed as 3, should be 5 (Modswap automatically changes this)

Code: Select all

[InstalledVersions]
 ...
 5=1
 ...
to specify TLD is installed

Code: Select all

[InstalledLocations]
 ...
 5=C:/Games/Close Combat The Longest Day
Where this is the path you installed the game to

Code: Select all

[InstalledToRegKey]
 ...
 5=SOFTWARE\Matrix Games\Close Combat The Longest Day
 ...
The default registry key it looks for is under Mattel??

Hope this helps people.

It works without editing if you install to the default matrix games location

:)

Yes you will need to edit if you install to a different custom location.

I'm not sure it does though because the default registry keys it looks for are wrong, and the game radio buttons are greyed out until you edit it (at least that was how it was for me).

Thanks for passing this along. We'll have a look at it.
