Turn 7 is over, things got a little heated as i ran up against entrenched enemy troops in prepared defenses along the entire front. In the north the finns have closed on leningrad and are advancing into karelia. In the center the panzer have broken through the main enemy defense lines at velikye luki and the landbridge. the dnepr line remains quite, the pripyat is finally cleared and german infantry forces are pushing towards kiev and cherkassy. a breakthrough by 2nd pz army south of cherkassy has pushed a lone panzer division to the dnepr cutting off russian rail lines to the southern front. 1st panzer army has resupplied and will be storming through the weakened front lines next turn heading for rostov and trapping the enemy infantry in the ukraine. hopefully the remaining enemy will withdraw to the river allowing the infantry to close and 2nd panzer army to take its turn resting. ive reinforced the air transports in agn to allow 4pza to continue its advance to outflank the russian defenses at novgorod and the infantry will clear the landbridge and force the dnepr next turn while 3rd panzer army rests.

Your elan is to be applauded. But I fear that Panzer Div north of Kirovograd might be heading into the POW camp soon; looking better up north around V-L.
I still remember cardboard!

it took some soul searching to send it out there but looking at the rail network and knowing 1st pza is nearby fully fueled tipped the balance. he can reach it but he cant attack across the river except by 1 hex at the crossing and that would take a lot of points. i just dont see him getting that much firepower together in that area after the defensive battles the pz is strength 13 and fully supplied via air atm it can hold 2 turns

Turn 8 is over In the north the enemy remains oblivious to the threat posed by the finns as we close on the no attack line in eastern karelia - hoping my luck holds there. further south the infantry has closed on the luga and velikye luki and 4th panzer has shifted to its attack position south of lake illmen. this move appears to have been anticipated but the river line hasnt been fortified and can be breached by the tanks. Strong combined armed forces occupy the landbridge but the armor will be moved south next turn while the infantry breaks the defenses. The Dnepr line has been broken up and infantry is set to make its crossing in force next turn. In the south Kiev is invested, the Dnepr reached, cherkassy taken and a dozen divisions pocketed. his response to my breakthrough was much more aggressive than anticipated so the river couldnt be crossed. However he now has substantial infantry forces west of my armored spearheads with no hope of getting back across the dnepr ahead of my armor for at least 3 turns, his rail lines are compromised so he is in for a rough slog east. hopefully 1st panzer will be able to cross the river and beat his withdrawing troops to dneprovstk. 2nd panzer will cross at cherkassy and move east then north to link up with 3rd panzer army.

Sorry for the lack of posts - you guys were correct about the supply - it absolutely wrecked me. Mazzah got the win and weve started over. his defense was amazing.
