replenishment + mine warfare

Post by marcosortega »

Hi,

How does the replenishment mission works? Do i have to place TF lacking fuel and TF replenishment in same hex and then press replenish TF at sea?

It seems that in version 2.2 the mine warfare missions do not work. I am not able to place any mine. I send the TF with retirement allowed activated and mine warfare mission activated and nothing happens. It simply comes back but no mine is placed in the DH.
Has anyone experienced this?ç

Thanks!:p

Mine Warfre

The one time I got it to work I had to send the Minelayer out all on it's lonesome(This could definately be my problem) . And as I have found out in futher reading you can only reload mines at Noumea and Brisbane. If you are using Subs then you have to disband the TF and create another to get the Subs to reload with mines, The replenishment doesn't handle the mines. Understand with ships that you can just use the refuel in port button to reload the mines for them. Hope this helps. Mark:)

I have had no problem in my current game in getting the Argonaught to do repeat/computer control mission from Neumea (sp) to Guadalcanal over the last several weeks in my game.

Argonaught

My understanding is this Sub is treated like a mine laying ship as it was converted to lay mines. . It had actual mine racks to carry and lay mines with. Regular minelayers auto reload at Brisbane and Nouema when they dock Regular subs carried the mines in the torpedo tubes and therefore carried fewer torps on patrol. Once the mines were laid then they reloaded with their torps Mark

Q & A

marcosortega,

Underway Repelishment (UnRep): First off both the TF needing fuel and the UnRep TF need to be in the same hex. Open the TF needing fuel and click on the refuel at sea button. Note 1: If the AO/TK in the UnRep TF reach 1000 operation points they will no longer be able to perform UnRep that turn. Note 2: The refueling ship will never receive more than 1⁄2 of the fuel it requires to bring it to full fuel capacity.

For more info on refueling see:

8.16 Refueling in Port and at Sea - page 32

Mine Laying: First off I'm assuming you are using ML or DM (or SS on submarine mine laying mission) type vessels to lay mines. Is the DH and enemy base or a friendly one? If its an enemy base a surface combat TF may be causing you're mine layers (ships not subs) to abort thier mission. Other than that I'm not sure why you're having problems.

I suggest reading Apollo 11's excelent thread titled 'Understanding of UV "Mine rules"...'
