Cool [:D] Scenario is much better now to play. I am not going to make any changes to the scenario for a while. At least until I get some other players views on it. Yes...that link is a good source of info. I found a map there of the Nancy area that would make a good game map and scenario.

Wow scraped a draw. I managed to advance quite well in the east of the map and quickly gained the main objectives. The AI mainly headed south and to the east. I was a little too quick to move forward. I hadnt expected such strong German reserves! Maybe in the briefing you should include some hints to conducting a defensive battle before going over to the attack? Still having played it through its a great scenario.

Some great AAR's here that give a feel to what it was like http://www.80thdivision.com/WebArchives/MiscReports.htm

Should the 80th Reconnaissance Troop (Mechanized) be in the scenario? I think from their troop history a platoon was attached to each Regiment http://www.80thdivision.com/UnitHistori ... story2.pdf Pretty small unit at section level but recce units are useful.

Off to give it another go with added caution!

Most interesting starbuck. In the briefing I used there is mention of the 8th Panzer Grenadier regiment being involved...I used that regiment as reinforcements on day three. I also included one more German regiment, the 29th Panzer Grenadiers. They arrive late on day seven.I thought perhaps the Germans might need the extra help which strays off from the historical a little. The 29th PZ was in the area. Could add the 80th RCN troop, U.S. probably will need them.I used this map and then studied a more detailed German OOB to choose the 29th PZ reinforcements from. There are a number of possibilities for reinforcements for both sides.I am up to day 8 now in my first test. I should finish it this PM.

Dumb question but once unzipped, where do I extract the files to. I would like to try this.

Extract to desktop.Copy and paste the two map files into the maps folder. Copy and paste the scenario file into the scenario folder. Be sure to open the folders up and copy the files only, not the entire unopened folder.I did not set it up to be extracted directly into the game folders. I should have though.Sorry I did not reply sooner was up late and fell back asleep.

Thank you for helping me out starbuck. I believe your input has helped tremendously to make the scenario better. Also makes future scenarios easier to setup because your input has helped me to take a second look at things.

Just played through v3 as the Americans and was able to achieve the historical line of advance on both flanks (http://www.ibiblio.org/hyperwar/USA/USA ... e-XXVI.jpg) I even secured and held the major bridge objective against the 29 Pz Gren attack Regt. My centre attack didnt secure the historical line but the Germans have significant reinforcements over the historical situation. Overall I think version 3 works just fine. Germans put up a god fight and the AI was a lot more balanced in its defence and attack between all the objectives. German arty with less supply feels more historical against the prodigious amounts of the allies. Nice tuning of the scenario objectives. Thank you for your comments. Will play the Germans next :)

Scenario does seem to be better now. I am moving slowly on my test as the Germans, only just now about to finish day two. AI is certainly behaving much better with the new objective point values.
